Good Things
Over 50 years in the making...
The Shepherd Pirates made history as they stepped onto the field, November 17th, for a second round playoff game. A special highlight of the evening was honoring the legacy of the 1967 team, the last to advance to the second round of the playoffs. We were also thrilled to have Mr. Ronnie Corn, the coach and principal of that legendary '67 team, join us as an honorary captain. His participation in the coin toss brought back memories and bridged generations.

What's that sound?
We love to see our Pre-K students excited about learning. They've been hard at work learning new letters and their sounds, with the help of their classmates! It's amazing to watch them work together and have fun while learning.
Thankful
Shepherd Primary was feeling extra thankful. Our Pirate families enjoyed a fantastic Thanksgiving lunch with their students, and the smiles and laughter shared added a special touch to the festivities. We're so blessed to have such wonderful families as part of our community.
The Progress Chain
To the principal's office!
Congratulations Collin Coogler! He was recognized with a trip to the Mrs. Lott’s office, the SPS Principal...but for a good reason. The goal was to recognize students for going above and beyond with school expectations by giving them a positive office referral.

Above and Beyond
Congratulations to 4th Grader, Kamden Pate, our Student of the Month! We were so proud of Kamden's dedication and hard work and celebrated the many achievements he accomplished.
A New Tool for Learning
A new and innovative tool has just been added to 4th Grade's toolbox to help with division problems. With this new addition, they'll be able to better understand and solve tough division questions with ease!
Honoring Our Vets
SIS was honored to recognize and celebrate friends and family members who served in their annual Veteran’s Day program. They took the day to appreciate the true meaning behind the holiday, and shared a bit of its history. It was truly special to see the students reflect on the great sacrifices our veterans made for us.
So Much to be Thankful For
SIS is thankful for great Pirate families! All of the students had a wonderful Thanksgiving lunch and we are so grateful for a supportive school community.

Hard Work and Dedication
The middle school JROTC hosted a Skills Night which was an opportunity for the community to see the cadets exhibit the skills they have been working so hard to refine.
Giving Back
We had a number of middle school JROTC student volunteers helping out with the San Jacinto Community Outreach Thanksgiving Community Feast on their week off from school. This is the true meaning of service.
Up Close with Ocean Life
Shepherd Middle School Gifted and Talented students had an adventurous day downtown when they took a field trip to the Houston Aquarium.

The Heart of a Pirate
Our Shepherd Pirates played their hearts out, but came up short against the defending state champs, Franklin in the second round of the playoffs. They played both ways, they played hurt, they played bandaged, but they played through it all with heart. Our kids never gave up, and fought like true Pirates until the very end. We could not be more proud of our team, our school, or our community.
