Warhawk Culture

At Westerville Central, one of the core beliefs that shapes who we are—and how we grow—is being Better Together. This belief reminds us that true success happens when we lift each other up, learn from one another, and work as a team.

Being Better Together means we:

  • Are coachable – We stay open to feedback and embrace opportunities to learn and improve.

  • Believe in each other – We build confidence and trust, knowing that every Warhawk has something valuable to contribute.

  • Think “we,” not “me” – We celebrate collaboration over competition and put our community above individual gain.

  • Listen to understand – We seek to hear each other with empathy and respect, creating a culture of belonging for all.

Every day, we see these values in action—in classrooms, on the field, in clubs, and throughout our hallways. Thank you for reinforcing this belief at home and helping our students grow into thoughtful, caring leaders who know that we truly are Better Together.

WINGS UP !

Mrs. Sayre

Principal

Our Warhawk Blueprint outlines what we believe, how we behave and outcomes we hope to achieve together at WCHS. These beliefs are our guidepost that provide alignment in all we do.

Warhawk Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to our Qdoba Warhawk Athletes of the Week for the week of October 6 — senior football player Greg Woods, senior volleyball player Olivia Curry, and senior golfer Drew Werling!

These outstanding student-athletes model our Warhawk Blueprint beliefs — Better Together, Pursue Excellence, and Own It — on their respective teams, in the classroom, and throughout our community.

A huge thank-you to Qdoba and our Warhawk Athletic Boosters for sponsoring this program and helping us celebrate the excellence and character of our Warhawk athletes!

As daylight hours become shorter, we want to remind everyone to please drive safely on and around campus—especially during drop-off and pick-up times.

Student drop-off and pick-up should take place on the east side of the building. The front loop is reserved for special transportation vehicles that assist students who require additional support getting to and from school.

When dropping off a student, please pull up as far as possible along the curb to help reduce traffic backup on Mt. Royal. When exiting campus, follow all posted signs and drive slowly to ensure the safety of our walkers, riders, and other drivers. Please be patient and avoid passing other vehicles in the line.

Your cooperation helps keep everyone safe and makes arrival and dismissal run more smoothly for all Warhawks.

Thank you for your attention and continued support!

School Clinic

Hello Warhawk Families,

I hope you and your students have had a great start back to the school year! I am happy to have them back in the building and have enjoyed catching up on their summers.

A couple of reminders as we approach the Fall season...

Parents of Seniors

Please make sure to get your student’s Meningitis booster if you have not already done so. If this is already scheduled please reach out to me and let me know when your appointment is. Immunizations can be done at annual well visits, local health departments, or a pharmacy clinic. Ohio School Immunization Requirements

Illness Procedures

If your student is sick and needs to leave school, they are required to come to the clinic and then sign out through attendance. Please keep your child home if they have a fever of 100.1 or higher, are vomiting, have symptoms of pink eye (itchy, watery, redness, pain, drainage), skin rashes/ blisters, or any other symptoms that keep them from fully participating in their school day. Students can return when they are fever free for 24 hours without using medication and symptoms have improved.

Medications

If your child will need daily or as needed/ emergency medications kept at school, or if they self carry any medications, updated documentation is required each school year. All forms and other clinic information and resources can be found on the Health Services page on the district website.
