She now lives in Amherst with her husband, 22-month-old baby boy, and 2 golden retrievers. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going on hikes, bike rides, reading, swimming, and of course teaching! She loves Italian food and definitely has a sweet tooth. A couple of her favorite candies are pretzel M&M’s and dark chocolate peanut butter cups. She is very excited to get to know all of you this year!
Rachel Lunan-Hill Principal Teacher
Rachel is honored to become the next principal of Francestown Elementary School. She has fond memories of when she attended F.E.S. in her youth. She is excited to rejoin the community. Rachel feels fortunate to join a community that cares so much for their children and a school that works to create authentic and valuable learning experiences for every child.
Rachel has dedicated the last 20 years to the field of education creating meaningful learning experiences for children. Prior to working as your principal she worked with many grade levels in different capacities. she spent most of her time teaching third and fourth grade at Greenfield Elementary School and Antrim Elementary School. Rachel also spent some time teaching reading interventions for grades K-4. Before that she worked for the Harris Center for Conservation Education. She has always enjoyed connecting children with learning outside their classroom walls and integrating those experiences into their everyday learning. She am thrilled to continue her work with the children at Francestown Elementary School.
