The Pritchett Post -- 10/2/26
Home of the Panthers!
Dear Pritchett Families,
The first full month of school is already behind us—time is flying! Throughout September, we highlighted the heart of our community, The Pritchett Promise: Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible. It was a joy to celebrate our weekly "Panthers of the Week," recognizing one student from every classroom who truly modeled these values.
This October, our focus turns to perseverance—one of District 102’s key goals for our young learners. When teachers catch students pushing through tough challenges, we’ll highlight their effort during morning announcements. Recognized Panthers will visit the office for a special orange wristband to celebrate their perseverance!
I would also like to point out the critical importance of regular attendance in ensuring academic success and overall student well-being. Consistent attendance lays the foundation for continuous learning, allowing students to fully engage in lessons, participate in class discussions, and build upon prior knowledge. When students attend school regularly, they are more likely to develop strong relationships with peers and teachers, contributing to a positive and supportive school environment. Chronic absenteeism, on the other hand, can lead to learning gaps, decreased motivation, and social isolation, which is why we need to work together—teachers, parents, and the school community—to encourage and support regular attendance for all students.
For your children,
Dr. Matt K. Moreland, Principal
We appreciate all our third-graders who took the time to come to school and write their essay for their office of choice. Special congratulations to this year's Pritchett School student council officers!

FIRSTact Bus Monitoring System
First Student has implemented a new bus monitoring system called FIRSTacts. This system quickly and efficiently captures inappropriate behavior and instantly shares it with Dr. Moreland and Mrs. Robinson. Students who are reported will receive communication through email regarding their child's misconduct. Various disciplinary measures will be issued including suspension from riding the school bus.
To ensure the safest transportation possible for all of our students, please take a moment to review the following bus etiquette with your child:
- Remain seated, facing forward
- K-3 students must sit in their assigned seat
- No eating or drinking on the bus
- Use inside voices
If you have specific questions about FIRSTActs please reach out to our Director of Transportation, Ms. Denise Koto (dkoto@d102.org) or First Student.
