Costumes must allow children to walk, see, and move safely
Label costume pieces with your child’s name
Students should be able to manage their costumes as independently as possible
Parade + Activities:
Our costume parade begins at 1:15 PM on the main yard.
At 2:00 PM, students will begin rotating through trunk-or-treat and Beacon games and activity stations.
Trunk-or-treat will end by 2:45 PM so classes can prepare for 2:55 PM dismissal. Students enrolled in our after-school program may remain and continue enjoying the activities.
Snack Donations:
Families may help by donating individually packaged, school-friendly snacks that follow SFUSD nutrition guidelines. Each classroom has ~25 students. SFUSD encourages foods centered on fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
Good options include:
Unsweetened applesauce or fruit cups, yogurt cups/straws
Raisins or other dried fruit with no added candy or sugar
Whole-grain crackers
Pretzels
Plain or lightly seasoned popcorn
Baked whole-grain snack items
Individually packaged cheese,
Flavored water
Please do not send soda, fruit punch, sports drinks, candy-heavy treats, or homemade food.
Please do not send anything containing peanuts or tree nuts. We also serve children with known food allergies, sensitivities, and medical dietary needs. Check ingredient labels carefully, and when possible choose items clearly labeled with allergen information.
Families:
Families are welcome to watch the 1:15 PM parade from the designated family area.
To help us keep the school day safe and organized:
Please do not enter classrooms
Please follow staff directions for parking
Keep the area behind the trunk-or-treat setup clear
Trunk-or-treat is a student activity coordinated by school and Beacon staff;
Thank you for helping us make the afternoon fun, safe, and welcoming for every Carver child.
