Attendance Matters ALL DAY, EVERYDAY
TAKE ATTENDANCE SERIOUSLY
Itâs common for students to experience a significant increase in chronic absenteeism during the winter months due to an increase in typical illnesses. If your child must be absent due to illness, please email WCESResidency@fultonschools.org, your childâs (1) legal first and last name, (2) teacherâs name, (3) all the dates your child was absent, and the (4) reason for missing school. Please also copy your child's homeroom teacher on the email. It is important to include a photo or scanned image of the doctorâs note, if you take your child to be seen. If your child is missing a lot of school due to illness, please reach out to our clinic assistant, Ms. Ankita Doshi, for guidance. Chronic absenteeism occurs when students miss 10% or more of school for any reason.
Additionally, it's important that kids arrive to school on time every day. Please remember that our car rider line can back up closer to 7:30. Consider being in line closer to 7:10 or by having your child ride the school bus to prevent tardies.
Help Your Child Succeed in School: Build the Habit of Good Attendance! School success goes hand in hand with good attendance!
