Message from Ms. Athanson
Greetings,
Thank you to all of our amazing grandparents that came out this week to eat lunch with their students. We had over 300 families come for this yearly event. Thank you for being an active part in our school.
Our Fall Fest was a huge success. Thank you to PTSA and to the countless volunteers that made this night happen!!!!
Next week we are celebrating Red Ribbon Week. Please see the flyer below for each day's theme. A friendly reminder that slippers are not permitted, even on pajama day. All outfits throughout the week must follow PCS dress code.
Congratulations to our Cross Country Team. Both girls' and boys' runners placed 2nd in the PCAC championship and will advance to the state level!!!
Parents, a friendly reminder. We are seeing creative hairstyles in both elementary and middle. A reminder that hair color must be natural. Streaks, tinsel, under color and highlights that are not natural will result in infractions and be expected to change immediately.
Parents we are in need of families to volunteer for IAC. Parents who volunteer will receive double meeting credit. Please reach out to Mrs. Ivy if you are interested in being on the list.
We always have a great turn out for Great American Teach In. If you are interested in being a guest speaker, even if for a portion of the day, please reach out to Mrs. Lake at: lakes@pcsb.org
On Wednesday, our 8th grade students will be taking the PSAT. This is a one-day event and make up testing will not be offered.
PCS is excited to offer Innovate • Create • Captivate Veterans Day Camps on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, for students in grades 2-5. Students can choose from engaging enrichment experiences in STEM, Visual Arts, or Youth Choir, hosted at schools and community partner locations across the district. Camps run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and provide students with a fun and enriching way to spend the day exploring their interests. A $25 non-refundable registration fee applies, and space is limited. Registration is available through the Student Reservation System (SRS) in Focus. Students should bring their own lunch and snack. Information can be found on the attached flyer.
District Application Fairs are coming up soon. If you are a parent of an 8th grade student, please plan on attending on either the 24th at Pinellas Park High School or the 28th at Gibbs High School. Please visit the district website for more information.

Fundamentals of the carline...
Drop off begins at 7:15. Students may not exit their car until this time. We ask everyone to pull up all the way to avoid gaps in the line and have an efficient and timely process.
Elementary school:
- Elementary students will exit their vehicle in the designated areas
- Students will head to the covered court area and remain supervised until class begins
- If they wish to eat breakfast, there will be students to escort them to the elementary cafe
- If you have a student in elementary and middle, you may choose either line to use and they may walk to their designated areas
Middle school:
- Students may exit their vehicle from the covered walkway by the middle school office all the way to the cafeteria.
- Students will enter the cafeteria and remail in their until the bell rings to release to class at 7:38.
- Students that want breakfast will enter the elementary cafe to eat and then head to the middle school cafe till classes begin.
Pick Up for elementary begins at 1:55 and 2:15 for middle. Parents, we ask that you not arrive prior to 30 minutes of dismissal. Arriving too early blocks the flow of traffic for visitors, deliveries and early dismissal for appointments.
Early release for appointments: Parents, we understand that students need to be released early from time to time for appointments. We ask that if you need to pick up your student, please arrive prior to 30 minutes from dismissal (ex: elementary by 1:25, middle by 1:45). This will allow you to utilize the carline without issue.

Thank you all so much for coming out to the Fall Fest on Friday! Giant thank you to all our volunteers who made the event such a great night. We had a wonderful time and were so happy to see so many families there enjoying the event together. We are still tallying up the votes and will announce the trunk winner later this week.
As a reminder, we still have our Community Partner Night coming up this Monday. Participating locations include Vampire Penguin, Culver's, and Coconut Charlie's. If you need parent meeting credit, this is a great opportunity to get that taken care of—just make a purchase and scan the QR code at the site!
Finally, please be on the lookout for more information coming soon regarding our upcoming Game Night on November 16.
