As we enter the month of November, I want to take a moment to thank our families for their continued support of East Washington Elementary School! We had an outstanding 98% participation rate in our recent Parent-Teacher Conferences! What an incredible turnout! Thank you for being there!
A strong partnership between home and school is so important to a child's success, and we are grateful to have families who are actively involved in their children's education.
During this season of thankfulness, I want you to know how truly thankful we are for our wonderful students and families. Thank you for trusting us with your children each day and for working alongside us to help them learn, grow, and succeed!

At East Washington Elementary, we believe every child has the potential to be a leader! This month, our Mini Musketeers are focusing on Habit 3: Put First Things First! Putting first things first means making good choices, taking care of our responsibilities, and completing the most important things before moving on to the things we want to do. We’re helping students learn to manage their time, stay focused, and understand the importance of working hard before playing hard! We are excited to watch our Mini Musketeers develop responsibility, independence, and strong leadership habits as they continue to Lead the Way Every Day!
🇺🇸 Honoring Our Heroes: EWSC Veterans Day Celebration 🇺🇸
EWSC invites all veterans to join us for our Veterans Day Program on November 11 at 9:00 a.m. in the EHS gym. All K-4 students will attend and participate in honoring our veterans. Veterans are asked to RSVP by calling 812-967-3931 or emailing Kelly McCormick at kmccormick@ewsc.k12.in.us if they are able to attend.
We encourage all students to wear red, white, and blue for this special event.
We ask that parents notify the child's teacher if they have a veteran who will be attending the event. This will help ensure that your child can personally celebrate his/her veteran!

As shared during Parent-Teacher Conferences, moving forward, all midterms and report cards will be available electronically through Infinite Campus, our Student Information System. Paper copies will no longer be sent home.
All parents should have access to an Infinite Campus Parent Portal, where you can view your child's grades, midterms, report cards, and other important student information.

Come enjoy a festive evening of holiday fun while supporting our EWES PTO! There will be plenty of opportunities to shop, create, and give back, including holiday vendors, Build-a-Bear (complete with an adorable school shirt if you pre-order!), a silent auction, and pictures with the Grinch! Silver Fox Cafe will also be selling delicious warm treats!

Our Student Lighthouse Team is leading the way by organizing Coin Wars, November 9–24! This fun competition is about more than collecting coins—it's about teaching our Mini Musketeers the importance of serving others and making a difference! We encourage students to earn their coins by doing extra chores at home, helping them learn that giving to others can take a little hard work! All money raised will support our Holiday Assistance Program, helping families in need this holiday season. Together, we can show our students that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a BIG difference!
Thanks to the generosity of our EWES families, we collected an amazing 491 hats, pairs of socks, and gloves for our Fill Bryce’s Truck Bed project! Because of your kindness, many families in our community will have the items they need to stay warm this winter. Thank you for helping us make a difference and showing our Mini Musketeers the importance of giving to others!

As per Indiana code, we will be doing our mandatory education for child abuse and neglect during the month of November. Comfort House will present the age-appropriate lesson to students through a video and supplementary materials. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our school counselor, Mrs. Endris, at aendris@ewsc.k12.in.us or 812-967-2929 ext. 5123.
PTO's Santa Shop is coming to EWES the week of December 7–11! Our Mini Musketeers will have the opportunity to shop for special gifts for their loved ones and have them wrapped and ready to place under the Christmas tree! It's such a special experience watching our students discover the joy of giving!
Our PTO will soon be asking for volunteers to help make this special week possible, so please mark your calendars! ❤️
ILEARN Math and Reading Checkpoint scores are now available for students in grades 3 and 4.
