Faith At Home
🌿 Easter Season (We are still celebrating!)
We are currently in the joyful season of Easter, which lasts 50 days—not just one Sunday! This is a time to celebrate the Resurrection and live with joy and hope.
👉 Keep the celebration going—say an “Alleluia” prayer together, play joyful music, or talk about where you’ve seen new life and hope this week.
🌸 Mary in May - The month of May is traditionally dedicated to Mary.
👉 Say a simple Hail Mary together, create a small Marian space at home, or talk about how Mary always leads us closer to Jesus.
🔥 Looking Ahead: Pentecost
We are approaching Pentecost, when we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit. It’s often called the “birthday of the Church.”

Bike Bonanza
Bike Bonanza Recap: What a Day!
Our first-ever Bike Bonanza at the West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day was a huge success. Every single donated bike found a new home! This would not have happened without the generosity of the families who donated bikes and the volunteers who gave their time on Friday and Saturday. Thank you!
We had shoppers coming from all across West Seattle and beyond, many of them telling us it was one of the best stops on the garage sale map. Bikes of every size, from Striders to cargo e-bikes, lined the sidewalk in front of the school, and the energy was incredible.
A few highlights:
- 38 bikes donated by HRS families
- 36 bikes sold over the weekend
- 2 bikes donated to Bike Works
- $4,835 in sales to benefit our school
We are already thinking about year two so if you have a bike that you have outgrown, consider holding onto it until next May when we will ask for the next round of bike donations. Thanks!
Lunch Reminder
Hi families! Just a friendly reminder to please double-check your child’s lunch schedule each day. We’ve recently had an increase in students arriving without lunches, or not on the hot lunch list and we want to make sure everyone is prepared and ready for a great day. Thank you for your help and support!
Used Uniforms
Closet bursting at the seams? Ours is. We’ve got an overstock of gently used uniforms looking for their next adventure—perfectly good pieces that deserve a second life instead of another day on the hanger. Think of it as a uniform treasure hunt where the price is right and the options are plenty.
If your wardrobe could use a refresh (or you just love a good find), Arlo is your guide to the good stuff. Reach out at arlowyn.i@gmail.com and she will help you track down your perfect uniform pieces before they disappear back into the closet abyss. Truth be told, we need the extra hangers!
Action Items
Field Day Is Friday, May 22
We will be walking to Hiawatha playfield. Please send your kids with water bottles. A snack will be provided. Each class has voted on their “class colors”, so help your kids show their class spirit by wearing the following colors. Library Books
Calling all library books! All Holy Rosary School Library books are due back no later than May 29th. Please help your student look for missing books in backpacks, bedrooms, and around the house. Overdue notices will be given to students with overdue books on Friday.
Thank you for supporting the HRS Library.
Bike To School Month
Bike to School Month is rolling full speed ahead, and the Gators are crushing it.
🚴‍♂️ BIKE TO SCHOOL MONTH IS IN FULL SWING!
More than 30 students every day are showing up on bikes, scooters, and on foot. That’s a whole parade of wheels and sneakers powering into school. Way to go, Gators — you’re unstoppable!
🏡 “But I live too far away…”
🚌 “But I take the bus…”
No problem at all — you can still join the fun.
If you can’t bike, scoot, or walk to school, just do it after school. Get outside for at least 15 minutes of riding, scooting, or walking once you’re home. It totally counts.
Have an adult sign your calendar or write a note, bring it in the next day, and grab your raffle ticket for the chance for weekly prizes.
We also need volunteers to help cheer on and count bikers/scooters/walkers, hand out raffle tickets, and help students lock their bikes up every morning throughout the month.
Sign up for one (or more!) days HERE. 7th and 8th graders are also welcome to volunteer as well.
2026-27 BASE
We wanted to share that BASE for the 2026-27 School year is very full after completing the re-enrollment period for current BASE families.
Knowing that there is a great need in our community for before- and- after school care, we invite families to get on the BASE Wait List. Our hope is that there might be some movement over the next few months and BASE could accommodate some families who are still in need of care for the next school year.
Please complete the application form to get on the Waitlist: https://forms.gle/5EzSDL57X2EtFhcf7.
