Students, we would like to remind you of the critical role that regular school attendance plays in your academic success.

Consistent attendance allows you to:

1. Keep up with daily lessons and academic performance.
2. Develop essential social skills and peer relationships.
3. Participate in extracurricular activities that enrich your educational experience.

Missing school can lead to gaps in knowledge that become harder to fill as time goes on. Let's work together to ensure that you are here each day and benefit fully from the opportunities available at SKG.

A student must bring a written note from the parent/guardian or healthcare provider providing an explanation for an absence. Notes must be turned in to the Attendance Office, and excused notes can be emailed to seckingerattendance@gcpsk12.org. Check-out notes for student drivers may not be emailed. After ten parent excuse notes in a school year, the school may request additional documentation, including doctor’s notes, to continue to excuse absences and tardies.

Picture Retake Day is scheduled for Friday, October 27th. If you plan on taking/retaking a photo, you must complete the request form below by Friday, October 20th.

• All SKG staff and parents have received an email with the calendar survey link. The link can be used one time.
• All SKG students will vote on Thursday, October 18, in 7th period, with extended time due to Elementary and Middle School Early Release. The link for the calendar survey for students is on the students' portal page.

Staff, students, families, and Gwinnett community members are invited to review and provide input on proposed instructional resources for select grades and courses in Mathematics, ESOL, and World Language. Before adopting instructional resources for classroom use, Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) holds an extensive review. Multiple committees involving various stakeholder groups reviewed resources submitted by publishers for alignment with the school system’s Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) standards. During the ongoing review process, selected resources are piloted in GCPS classrooms. Data from the reviews and pilots will be considered in making adoption recommendations to the Board of Education in early 2024.

This public review will be available until October 31, 2023. We appreciate your participation.

Your hoodie, beanie, and tumbler will ship home to you no later than December, just in time for the holidays! Your diploma plaque will be delivered to you at your school's cap & gown delivery in the Spring. See the attached flyer for all that’s included, and make sure to order BEFORE it closes on October 15th!

• Only Seckinger HS students and opposing HS students will be permitted in games without a parent. High School IDs will be checked.
  
• Students must leave school on game day and can return thirty minutes before the start.
