Principal's Corner
Dear Hirsch Hawk Families,
As we close out April and prepare to enter the final month of the school year, I want to take a moment to share how incredibly proud we are of our 3rd through 5th grade students. Over the past couple of weeks, they have shown focus, resilience, and determination as they completed their STAAR assessments. They gave their very best effort, and we could not be more proud of the way they represented themselves, their families, and our school.
While we know that standardized tests like STAAR are just one measure, they don’t define the amazing young people we are privileged to teach each day. Their creativity, kindness, curiosity, and joy are what truly make them unstoppable. At the same time, we recognize that for some, the accountability ratings attached to these scores carry weight. Our goal is for the greatness we see in our students every single day to shine through in the results we’ll receive this summer.
Thank you for your continued support and for being such vital partners in your child’s learning journey this year.
This Friday is Field Day, and Coach Mack has ordered a few extra shirts for those who missed the deadline. If your child still needs one, please reach out to her as soon as possible. To ensure everyone has a safe and fun day, please make sure your child wears tennis shoes and brings a water bottle. As a reminder, the campus will be closed to visitors on Friday unless you have signed up in advance to volunteer.
Let’s make this a great week as we kick off May and celebrate all we’ve accomplished together!
With gratitude,
Principal Patterson
