FALL FOOD DRIVE - END OF WEEK 1 UPDATE!
Off & Running!
With the first week of our Fall Food Drive done and dusted, we are so appreciative of all the donations we've received so far. As of the end of the day on Thursday, we have received almost 400 items! Thank you so much to our families that have already donated and to those that will be donating later. Our goal this year is 1500 items and we're almost 33% the way there. Families can bring donated good to the front office, spot by Eagle River Subway or Northrim Bank, or send items to school with your student.
We are looking for items like:
- Peanut Butter & Jelly
- Shelf-Stable Milk
- Spaghetti Sauce
- Rice & Noodles
Snacks of ALL kinds
Canned soups/ravioli
Fruit cups
Please make sure to check expiration dates of any donated items and that items are shelf-stable. We are not able to keep items in a refrigerator or freezer. Thanks you for helping us to support our students!
SNOW GEAR
Nurse Jen has a limited amount of donated items for students, so if your students needs something, please reach out to the front office. We want to make sure our eaglets are set up to have "snow" much fun outside!
Thanksgiving Blessings
Food Bank of Alaska will be hosting Thanksgiving Blessings to provide a free Thanksgiving meal to families that stop by one of the sites in the attached flyer/picture below on November 24th from 2pm - 7pm. The site designated for Eagle River residents is at Joy Lutheran Church 10111 E Eagle River Loop Rd and is drive-thru - no need to even get out of your vehicle!
If you know anyone that would benefit from this Thanksgiving Blessing, please share the event information with them. Want to help sponsor a family? Sign-up at foodbankofalaska.org/blessing!
PICK-UP/DROP-OFF REMINDERS
Families are reminded that dropping off at the cross walk or across the street is not allowed. It is extremely important for families to not drop off students in the street for their own safety. It is important even more so now that our roads have become icy and slick with snow. If you are dropping your student off after school begins, families must come in to the front office to sign in their student for the day. Please help us be respectful and courteous of our neighbors, and keep our students safe!
Also as a reminder, we cannot call students down prior to your arrival if you are picking them up early from school. Families are welcome to park in the bus lane as long as it is not within 30 minutes of start or dismissal of school. We do not release students for early pick-up after 2:15, so please plan accordingly.
For families needing retakes, the original portrait package MUST BE RETURNED and families need to include a note on what they would like different about the photo. (i.e., "hair down", "shirt buttoned", etc.) Please note: retake portraits will the the same package, options, and background style as the originals. Retakes requesting an upgraded option or different background are subject to a 40% reprint fee of the original package price.
For class group photos, all orders must be submitted using a separate ordering envelope. Online ordering for class groups will not be available.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Purnell Photography at (907) 440-1830 or by emailing them at purnellphotoAK@gmail.com.
