Jackrabbits Newsletter
Building on our Success Jan. 8th - 12th
Week #2 of Marking Period 3
Greetings Jackrabbits!
Last week, we welcomed our students and teachers back to help set our sights on the new school year. It brings great joy to see our scholars fill our halls and classes with the sheer excitement of learning. The Mighty Jackrabbits Robotics Team competed at Robocom X and represented us well. Kudos to our coordinator, Ms. Fresquez and our supportive parents for making this happen.
This month marks the recognition and appreciation of our district's board of trustees. The theme for 2024 is Locally Elected, Community Connected and we have the grand opportunity to thank our board members for the valuable role they play in our schools. A special Thank You to Mrs. Marivel Macias Trustee, Mr. Michael A. Najera President, and Ms. Cynthia Ann Najera Vice President, for overseeing our Eastlake feeder pattern campuses.
Help us recognize three amazing teachers amongst many, here on campus. Mrs. C. Lopez, 3rd grade teacher was selected as our Teacher of the Year 2023- 24 by her colleagues for the work and professionalism both in and outside of the classroom. We also want to recognize and thank both our Librarian, Mrs. Seelig and Ms. Armendariz, special education teacher as finalist.
Outstanding cafeteria balances have greatly increased and now totaling over 4 thousand dollars. Please contact Ms. Parra, our cafeteria cashier at (915) 938-2816 for an account balance. Some students have hundreds of dollars in fines. We do need your assistance in getting to a zero balance. Payments are always welcomed as we are sensitive to your family's budget. Thank you so much for your support!
Tardies were of concern this past week.
Scholars will be counted TARDY whey they enter the building after 7:45 AM. Tardies result in lunch detention. Together we can instill positive life skills of the importance of punctuality. Heading to school earlier will reduce stress for all.
Thank you for entrusting our team with serving your child(ren).
At your service,
Fernando L. Miranda
School Principal

We have received several calls regarding PK3/PK4 Compulsory Attendance. Below is some clarification:

We are entering the lowest months for good attendance due to upper respiratory infections and flu like symptoms. Please send healthy students to school daily.
