Staff Appreciation Week is next week (May 4 - 8) and we want to make it extra special for our incredible Cedar Island staff! A reminder of how you can still get involved:

• Complete your "thank you" cards by tomorrow, April 30: Last week, your student(s) had two "thank you" cards in their folders. Please fill them out—one for your child’s homeroom teacher and one for another staff member who means a lot to your family — and return by tomorrow, Thursday, April 30. Share what makes them special, a favorite memory, or whatever is on your heart!
• Make a donation: We’re still collecting donations of drinks (sparkling water and soda), handheld treats (cookies, brownies, etc.), or monetary donations to help cover the week’s events. Every little bit helps us make this possible!
• If you'd like to donate food or drink, please contact Ashley Funke (awisnie2@gmail.com) to coordinate.
• If you'd like to make a monetary donation, you can either,
• Send electronically to Cedar Island PTO using the QR code below.
• Send cash or check (made out to Cedar Island PTO) with your child in an envelope labeled "Staff appreciation week." This will be safely collected in your child's class along with the thank you cards.

Cedar Island's Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

On May 28, we will be hosting an all-school BBQ, and all families are invited to join! The event will take place during the school day, with each grade level enjoying the BBQ during their designated lunch hour.

Guests who would like to purchase a school BBQ lunch can do so for $5.50. Students of Cedar Island do not need to purchase a BBQ lunch. The meal will include your choice of beef hotdog or hamburger, chips, watermelon, assorted fresh vegetables, and a milk.

There are 2 ways to purchase your BBQ lunch...

1. Pre-purchase tickets online. (Skip the line!) Click the button below!
2. Pay by card at the door.

Grade Level Lunch Times:

• Kindergarten: 11:45-12:10
• 2nd Grade: 11:55-12:20
• 4 Star: 12:15-12:45
• 1st Grade: 12:25-12:50
• 4th Grade: 12:35-12:55
• 3rd Grade: 1:00-1:25
• 5th Grade: 1:10-1:30

Great news! Every student will receive a FREE yearbook this year! Kemmetmueller Photography will be providing one book for every student pic. The books were designed by parent volunteers and will be distributed to students during the last week of school.

As the weather gets warmer, students may be tempted to wear sandals or other open-toed shoes. Please keep in mind that students have recess every day and Physical Education every other day, so safe and comfortable footwear is important for running, climbing, and active play. Tennis shoes or closed-toe shoes are the best choice for school.
