A Note from the Principal A Note from the Principal

Day 165/180

As I mentioned in my note last week, the end of the year is a whirlwind of activity, and it truly does not slow down until the final day of school. Last night, Ms. Pestone, in collaboration with Mrs. Ryan, hosted a fabulous art & STEAM show. While the student artwork is certainly the main attraction, my favorite part is seeing so many families and extended families filling the halls of the school. Many thanks to the Hull PTO and Lucky Lemons for hosting the Ice Cream Social, which is always a huge hit with our families. As I have said many times, it is the Jacobs community that makes this place so special.

Tonight, Mr. St. George will host our JMS Band and Chorus Concert in the gymnasium at 6:30. With each JMS performance, Mr. St. George continues to make subtle adjustments to the setup of the band, chorus, and audience seating to improve the overall experience for families and guests. One thing is certain, based on the rehearsal I observed yesterday, our students are ready to bring their A Game. This performance will also serve as an important warm up for the band’s upcoming trip to the Trills and Thrills Music Festival next Friday, marking the first time the Jacobs School has participated in 15 years.

Speaking of music, our JES Concert will take place on Tuesday with both morning and afternoon performances. It is another exciting opportunity for our students to showcase their hard work and growth this year. Morning & full-day preschool, kindergarten, and grades 1 & 2 will perform at 9:00; afternoon preschool, and grades 3, 4 & 5 will perform at 1:30.

Tomorrow, Mrs. Scott will host her final JMS Meeting before the end-of-year JMS House Cup Championship Meeting on June 12, where this year’s winning House will officially be crowned. As has now become tradition, the House that accumulates the most Pirate Gold Points throughout the year earns the House Cup Championship trophy along with a special boat trip during the school day to their House’s Boston Harbor Island. Will Mr. Dibley’s Green House repeat as champions? Only time will tell.

As always, thank you for your continued support during this incredibly busy but memorable stretch of the school year. There is still plenty more excitement to come.

-Mr. Shaw
