Cub Communication 🐾

Hello, Cypress Space Crew! 🚀🐻

Our Cypress Cadets are soaring to new heights, and we've got some exciting news from Mission Control! From attendance celebrations to keeping our campus safe, there's plenty happening in our Cypress galaxy!

💦 SPLASHDOWN! Attendance Takes Off! 🚀

Attendance matters, and we're making it FUN! This week, we launched our first surprise Attendance Day on Monday, welcoming our Cubs with a little extra excitement with pom poms and an attendance pencil!

And today, Friday, October 9, we took the fun to another galaxy! Every student who came to school had an opportunity to throw a water balloon at Mrs. Tuttle during lunch! 💦 She was suited up in her water gear and ready for splashdown! Let's just say... we have some future Cypress pitchers out there! ⚾😂

Why all the excitement? Because showing up matters! Consistent attendance helps students grow academically, build confidence, and prepare for their next big adventure. Every school day is another opportunity to reach for the stars!

🌟 Mission 96%: Every Day Counts!

Cypress Cubs, we're on a mission to reach 96% attendance, and we need EVERY cadet on board!

Here's how we're celebrating our attendance superstars:

• 🏆 100% Class Attendance: Classes reaching 100% attendance for a day get to choose a special class reward!

• 🚀 25-Day Attendance Challenge: Students meeting the attendance goal earn extra recess and a special treat!

• ⭐ Missed a Day? Attend Saturday School to make up an absence and stay in the running for the celebration!

• 🌙 Need Another Chance? Students who miss more than one day and cannot attend Saturday School can try again during the next 25-day challenge!

• ⏰ Mission Reminder: No tardies or early checkouts! Special events do not count against students.

And get ready, Cubs! Monthly attendance competitions against other C-VUSD elementary schools are here! Let's show the district what Cypress PRIDE looks like! 🐻🚀

🏆 Cypress Classroom Attendance All-Stars!

A HUGE congratulations to Mrs. Del Duca's, Mrs. Castro's, and Mrs. Hernandez's classes for achieving 100% attendance and filling up their Attendance sheet! Way to launch your classrooms toward success!

🍿 Mrs. Del Duca's class celebrated with popcorn and a cozy fall movie!

🍧 And a big shout-out to all our Cubs who achieved 100% attendance from August 31–October 6! They enjoyed a cool treat and extra recess on a hot day. What a perfect combination!

Keep showing up, Cubs! You never know when Mission Control might launch another surprise! 👀🚀

🚗 Mission: Safe Landing! Parking Lot Reminders

A BIG THANK YOU to our Cypress families for helping make our morning drop-offs safer and smoother! Your cooperation makes a difference!

Please continue following our campus landing procedures:

• 🚙 Drop-Off Lane: Use the designated lane or park in an available parking space and walk your child to the gate.

• ➡️ Keep Moving: If your child needs extra time, pull forward past the cones so other vehicles can safely pass.

• 🚫 Middle Lane = NO STOPPING! Never drop off or pick up students in the middle lane. This is extremely unsafe! We want to keep this lane OPEN, and your cooperation helps make that possible.

• 🪧 Pickup Placards: Display your car placard at dismissal! Need another? Stop by the front office.

🚌 Houston, We Have a Bus Zone Problem!

Families, we need your help! Our school buses are having difficulty accessing the lane near our marquee because vehicles are parking in the designated BUS ZONE during arrival and dismissal.

🚫 Please DO NOT park in the bus zone at any time!

The Covina Police Department has been observed actively patrolling this area. Let's work together to keep this space clear so our buses can safely transport students.

🌎 Until Next Week, Cypress Cadets!

Every day at Cypress is another opportunity to learn, grow, and shine! Thank you, families, for helping our Cubs show up, stay safe, and reach for the stars.

Our attendance mission is 96%, but our Cypress PRIDE is out of this world! 🌟

With Cypress PRIDE,

Mrs. Tuttle
Principal, Cypress Elementary School 🐻🚀

Together, we're reaching for the stars—one school day at a time! 🌙✨
