Hardy Elementary Newsletter
September 5, 2025
Great First Week!
We've had a great first week of school at Hardy. This newsletter includes a few notes on upcoming events.
Picture Day, Monday, September 8th
How to order:
1. The preferred method for ordering is online, because it minimizes paper forms getting lost. The link to order is here - Coffeepond online orders
If you place an order online, your student/s do not need to bring in the paper form.
2. Please have your student bring the form on picture day to give to the teacher or photographer.
- Late orders should be placed directly through the website
- Roslyn Fitzgerald is the volunteer for picture day and can be reached with general questions (rosfitzy@gmail.com), but ideally please contact Coffeepond first with photo specific questions as they have a great team! lifeguards@coffeepond.com, Ph: 508 907 6633 #0
Drumming Assembly, Friday, September 12th
We will have an all student assembly on 9/12 with Grooversity.
Grooversity is an innovative and creative drumming network project envisioned by Brazilian percussionist Marcus Santos. Grooversity’s goal is to promote ethnic music as a catalyst for social change, and as an educational reource. Grooversity focuses on community outreach for positive outcome while targeting global diversity awareness.
Open House, Monday, September 15th
6-8 p.m.
Please join us for a Back to School Open House on Monday, September 15th. Please allow yourself enough time to do a scavenger hunt of the school and visit your child's classroom. We will make an announcement at 7:55 pm to start wrapping up your visit. Teachers will share some information about the curriculum electronically. You do not need childcare for this event. Siblings are welcome.
Note: This is not a time for individual conferences. There will be two opportunities for conferences later in the year.
We're looking forward to seeing your family on the evening of 9/15.
CORI (Background Check)
If you are planning to volunteer and/or chaperone field trips this year, Open House is a great time to stop in to see Mrs. Bellerose and fill out a CORI form. She will need a front and back copy of your license or ID.
Safe Walking to and from School
Hardy staff will be having conversations with students over the next week about safely getting to and from school. These discussions will focus on two main areas:
-
For younger students: following safe crossing expectations.
-
For older students with walking permission: following the plan that their grown-ups have identified for them.
Roof Update
Our new roof is nearly complete, and we anticipate that solar panels will be installed during the building closure for Rosh Hashanah.
