🦋The Principal's Office🌏

Dear MGA Families,

Thank you for your partnership on Thursday and Friday. Because of your support, our students experienced two strong days of virtual instruction. Teachers delivered engaging lessons, and students showed up ready to learn and actively participate. We are grateful for the teamwork that made this possible.

As we transition back into the building on Monday and Tuesday, please remember that both days will operate on a late‑arrival schedule. Our custodial staff has worked tirelessly throughout the week to clear snow and ice. While conditions still require caution, their hard work and painstaking efforts have significantly improved the safety of our campus.

That said, we need your help to ensure students enter the building safely. Please reinforce the following with your child:

  • They should not run or play in the snow while arriving at school.

  • They must demonstrate safe and appropriate behavior at bus stops.

We will increase staff presence outside to support students as they enter the building and to help maintain safe conditions.

As always, our teachers are prepared for the week ahead, and I look forward to another strong week of learning and growth.

Warm regards,

April Murphy

🔬Attention K-5 Future Scientist🧪 🔬Attention K-5 Future Scientist🧪

It’s time to get ready for Monarch Global Academy’s Elementary 2025-2026 Innovators of Science and Engineering Challenge (ISEC) (Otherwise known as Science Fair)!

Each Kindergarten - 5th grade class will be conducting a whole group experiment at school so that all students are being exposed to and can participate in science research at school! These projects will be aligned to their PYP units of inquiry and grade level science standards. Science grades relating to the science and engineering practices the students are engaging in, and the scientific content standards will be collected from the in-class projects as well.

Additionally, besides their participation in their whole group experiment, all intermediate (3rd- 5th Grade) students are highly encouraged to participate in an independent research project that will be completed at home with guidance provided through the ISEC packet and limited teacher input. All intermediate independent projects will use the scientific method and will have the opportunity to be judged to determine grade level winners who will represent our school in the County ISEC Science Research Expo at the Lindale Middle School on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Independent projects, however, will not be graded for a science grade.

If your student is interested in completing an independent project for the ISEC Research Expo, please sign and return the bottom portion of the yellow interest letter sent home with intermediate students to your student’s teacher our first day back in the building from virtual learning. Packets will go home the third day after our return to the building. If you have not seen the yellow letter, it is also linked below! Once the interest slips are returned, students will receive an ISEC packet that will help your student work through the project. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Alicia Brands, MGA’s Elementary Science Lead Teacher (Brandsa@monarchacademy.org).
