Some thoughts for the starting school year

Superintendents' Message
Dear Shoreline Community,
I have to say, while we were all very tired by Friday November 1st, we were also so happy to have had the opportunity to celebrate Halloween in such grand fashion at all of our sites. Costumes and parades and music and community highlighted the activities across the district, and I appreciate that staff and parents came together to create joyful experiences for our students. It was a wonderful welcome to the fall season, and a great kick off to our next two months of activity and celebration.
November will bring a big push in learning as we build towards the end of the semester, as well as all of the frenzy and excitement that comes with the beginning of the holiday season. This is always a balance for this time of year, and I am thankful for our educators and families and the energy and patience they put into supporting Shoreline kids.

Business Day at Bodega Bay Elementary
Friday, 11/8 at 12:00 will be all about business at Bodega Bay Elementary!
Students can bring anything they create at home to sell to students and staff. Ideas include:
- Bookmarks, cards, fruit kabobs, chocolate-covered strawberries
- Gently used books/toys (the only items allowed that aren’t homemade)
Students will use Bodega Bucks to shop, and they’ll need to apply for a $40 Bodega Buck business license and create a poster or flyer. They should do most of the work themselves—parents are just "consultants"!
This event leads into a bigger project for the 3-4-5 class, focusing on entrepreneurship. Students will develop a business plan, and we’ll invite parent business owners to share their experiences. Exciting times ahead!
Fall Feasts
During the Thanksgiving season, Tomales Elementary and Tomales High School will each hold a Fall Feast on Tuesday, November 26th, during lunch. Students will enjoy delicious meals prepared by our Nutrition Services team and other staff. Tomales Elementary is also accepting pie donations for the event. It’s a special time for our school communities to come together and celebrate the season with gratitude and great food!
