Principal's message Principal's message

Happy Friday, everyone! 🎉 We made it to the end of another wonderful week, and we are looking forward to a long weekend and an extra day to relax and recharge! Just a friendly reminder that there is no school on Monday, October 12th, in observance of Columbus/Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

Our classrooms have been buzzing with excitement this week as students explored apples through fun science investigations and writing activities! It has been such a joy to see our students engaged in learning, asking questions, sharing their ideas, and making new discoveries. As we settle into the school year, students are becoming more comfortable with routines and expectations while continuing to build new academic skills each day. We are so proud of the wonderful progress they are making and appreciate your continued support as we learn and grow together!

💚Hope for Haddie Swag 💚 — Last Day to Order!

We are excited to share the Hope for Haddie swag, created in loving memory of our beloved Haddie B. There are two special designs available: one celebrating community and another with a sports focus. The sports designs are offered in blue and white, with our Lunenburg athletes especially in mind. If you would like to purchase something special to honor Haddie, today 10/9 is the last day to place an order! Please see the section below for the ordering link and additional details.

📸 Mark Your Calendars: Makeup Picture Day

As we head into the long weekend, we want to thank you for being such an important part of our Primary School community. Your support, partnership, and enthusiasm make our school such a special place to learn and grow. We are grateful for our wonderful students and families and love seeing all the amazing things happening in our classrooms each day!

We hope you enjoy the extra day with your families, find a little time to relax, and make some happy memories. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday, ready for another great week of learning!

Have a wonderful long weekend!

Warmly,

Principal Squier

Please see the newest Hope for Haddie swag that is all about two things that meant so much to Haddie: community and sports. It’s a reminder that we continue to show up, play hard, love big, and carry her with us in everything we do. It is a beautiful way to carry Haddie’s spirit of community, kindness, and love with us wherever we go. All orders need to be placed by October 9th.

Dwarfism Awareness Month Dwarfism Awareness Month

Every year on October 25th, we celebrate International Dwarfism Awareness Day, a day dedicated to honoring little people and raising awareness about dwarfism. This day encourages acceptance and promotes pride for individuals with achondroplasia, a bone growth disorder that causes dwarfism.

In support of this important day, we invite our students and staff to dress in green on Friday, October 23rd. This simple gesture will help us show our support and solidarity with the dwarfism community. Thank you for your participation and for helping us foster a culture of acceptance and understanding within our school. Together, we can make a positive impact!

School Day

The school day starts at 9:00 AM and ends at 3:20 PM. It is very important that your child be on time for school each day. He/she must be in their classroom at 9:00 AM for attendance. The beginning of each day is important to set the tone and to make sure your child feels they are a part of the classroom learning community. Should a situation arise that necessitates your child arrive late to school (after 9:00 AM), you must park in the lot, accompany your child into the school office and sign him/her in at the front office/lobby. (Please do not park in the Fire Lane)

Dismissal/End of Day Plans

Parents MUST send an email to your child’s teacher AND primaryoffice@lunenburgschools.net in the morning. Please date your letter, including your child’s full name, and indicate what the change in arrangement is. The Primary School will only accept telephone calls to change a child’s after school arrangements, or to dismiss a child early in the case of an emergency.

Lunch Program

Lunches are free again this year. Please review with your child if they will be having lunch from the cafeteria or eating a lunch that you prepared. Lunch menus are posted monthly on the website and will be sent home in weekly communication.

Vehicle Traffic: State Law does not allow motorists to pass a bus while loading or discharging passengers even in the school parking lot. A speed limit of 10 mph must be adhered to while driving in our parking areas.

Weekly Communication

Weekly communication will come out by the end of day on Friday's as consistently as possible. However, there maybe times in which this communication comes out on Saturday.

The weekly communication will contain general information such as important dates, procedural reminders and highlights from the week. In addition, the need may arise to send out other communications during the week.
