October Half Term 2025
Enjoy the half term break
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we come to the end of this first half term, I hope it has been a happy and positive one for you and your family. Autumn has certainly arrived — the mornings feel chillier, and the leaves are turning fast! Please remember that after the break, children should be in their winter uniform and come to school with coats and jumpers for the colder days ahead.
We’re delighted to share that St Cecilia’s will officially join the Sancta Familia Catholic Academy Trust on 1 December. This is the result of much thoughtful discussion and careful preparation over the past few years, and we’re very pleased to be moving forward with the new executive team in place.
A quick reminder that we return to school on Tuesday 4 November, as Monday 3 November is a staff training day and school will be closed.
Wishing you all a wonderful half-term break filled with rest, laughter, and family time. Thank you, as always, for your support and commitment to the school — it means so much to us.

PTA Meeting
Many thanks to all the PTA members who came along for our meeting this morning to discuss the Christmas Fair. They shared lots of lovely ideas for the fair which takes place on Saturday 29 November from 11am. to 2pm.
If you can help out on the day please look out for the volunteer sign up on their Facebook page and whatsapp groups.
Thanks to the PTA for the Doughnut sale this afternoon, a half term treat.

Marsden Coffee Morning
Thank you so much for your incredible support for our recent Marsden Morning — together we raised an amazing £1,070! The charity has expressed how grateful they are for your generosity, and we are so proud to be able to give back to such a vital local resource.
The Royal Marsden is a name close to so many of our hearts; it has supported countless families and members of staff over the years. It’s truly wonderful that, as a school community, we can come together to support the work they do for so many.

This newsletter and our Class Dojo messaging app are available in community languages. Sometimes your system will autodetect your home language and translate our news automatically, other times you may need to click on the translate button.
In school staff can use Google Translate on their phones to communicate with parents with limited English, we don't mind at all. We are also hoping to pilot a new translation system on Apple Airpods in the near future and are working on that with the PTA. If in doubt please ask, we are always happy to communicate with you as best we can.
