Craddock's Weekly Update
For the Week of September 21, 2026
Today (9/20) is the last day to early register your child at mybooster.com! 😀
Happy Sunday Craddock Families!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend and if you had a child attend Homecoming, I hope it was a safe and fun evening! I have seen some pictures and the kids looked amazing!
We had a wonderful week filled with SO MUCH! First, we are on the brink of wrapping up fall benchmarking. We are currently administering our phonics and phonemic awareness diagnostics to dig a little deeper with our students. Again, we look forward to sharing this information with you soon!
We held our annual bus evacuations. These are mandated by the state and so important for our kids to experience should they ever need to evacuate from a bus safely. They did a wonderful job practicing and we were so appreciative of all the Leighton students who stepped up to help support our younger students. I also want to give a big shout out to Ms. Morris, Mrs. Christian, Mrs. Marras, Mrs. Roscoe, Miss Tuleta and Mr. Ron for being outside to help support our students through evacuations each morning. We had some intervention specialists and paraeducators lending a hand as well!
I continued going into classrooms this week to practice students' names and share a story. It is truly the highlight of my job, getting to spend time with the kids. They are all so cute, funny and warm! They have the best stories to share and are also really good listeners! I will finish up a few more rooms this week and next to ensure I get to all 19 classrooms!
Finally, I think what we are really getting excited about is Cruisin' Craddock! This is our annual fundraiser at Craddock where we have our students walk or run around our makeshift track to fun music! We invite families in to lap with their children on this special day and are keeping our fingers crossed Mother Nature supports us with some cool, dry weather! I am finalizing the schedule now and will be sending a Cruisin' Craddock guest guidance document to all families on Wednesday, 9/23. This will give you all you need to know about where to park, how to sign in, etc. Guests do not need to sign up prior to the event, but everyone will need to check in upon arrival on Friday, 10/02! You come and walk/run with your child and then exit when they line up to go back to class! Little ones are welcome and strollers are recommended! We are so excited and hope you can make it!
Please be reminded that as part of our Cruisin' Craddock fundraiser, tonight at 11:59 p.m. is the last time to early register your child! Any student who is registered by that time, will be put in a drawing to sit in my chair all day in their classroom AND receive a free yearbook! I will draw five winners from each grade level! Tomorrow is our kick off, so lots more information will be headed your way!
Have a fantastic week and don't ever hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns or feedback! I am here to help!
P.S. WE FILLED UP OUR SCHOOL-WIDE POM BUCKET FOR THE FIRST TIME AND WILL BE CELEBRATING AS A SCHOOL SOON!
Take care,

Cruisin' Craddock is Coming!
Craddock's Transportation/Attendance Google Form for 2026-2027
We do our best to funnel all communication about our students' transportation and absences through our Google form connected below through the QR code and below through a link. This GREATLY reduces the craziness in the office having to address these calls and/or emails and it also helps us ensure no communication falls through the cracks. If we are receiving it from multiple places, it gets harder to track on busy days!
If you have any need to report your child absent, late or needing an early dismissal, just enter it into our form. If you need to change your child's transportation at any time, just enter it into our form. The responses go right to Mrs. Kerchenski in our main office. If she has any questions at all after reading your entry, she will always reach out!
THANK YOU in advance for helping us streamline our processes and most importantly, for doing all you can to ensure we know where your child is and how they are getting home safely each day!
A Note From Craddock's Nurse, Mrs. Kenadi Heyd
Welcome Back Families!
I wanted to reiterate a few really important details pertaining to your child's health and wellness while here at school. If your child will require any medication to be administered during the school day, they must have a doctor's note on file. Please be reminded that medication cannot be sent in with students. An adult must drop off any needed medication to Craddock. We are open 8:00-4:00 Monday through Friday. Additionally, if your child has their well-visit or dental exam this summer, you can either upload the medical forms into Final Forms or bring it to school!
New doctors’ orders and new medication will be required for each school year. You can locate all medication forms on our website at: www.aurora-schools.org→departments→nursing services or download the forms from below!
A few additional reminders as we get the year up and running...
- It's super helpful for our students to have extra clothes here at school. Not necessarily for accidents, but for spills at lunch, tears or falls on the playground, etc.
- Please be reminded with the helpful graphic below of when students should remain home from school. Germs spread QUICKLY here and we don't want others at risk of getting sick. Thank you for your diligence with this!
If you have any questions or need anything at all, don't hesitate to contact me a kheyd@aurora-schools.org.

September Update from Mrs. Schnur
Hello Craddock Families!
I hope your student’s school year is off to an amazing start! It has been a joy getting to connect with everyone and I can genuinely say that this year has been phenomenal so far. The students have been working hard at learning and practicing our school wide expectations and acclimating to all the new routines of Craddock.
So far this year, I was able to visit every classroom to introduce myself to all of our new and returning students. I taught them about my role at Craddock and discussed some of the ways I can help them this year if they are to need it!
Soon, I will begin my PBIS expectation: re-teach groups. My first focus will be on the expectation, “I can have a safe body”. I ask teachers to refer any students who might need more explicit instruction in this area and then meet with them 1 to 2 times either individually or in a small group. If your student is referred I will email you and send communication home when I meet with them. In addition to re-teach groups I will be visiting all classrooms soon to teach about the zones of regulation. A framework that focuses on feelings and coping skills.
I continue to make myself present and available throughout the building and am getting to know all the students!
Below you will find a google form that allows you to share any important information about your child’s social/emotional needs or any information that would be helpful for me to know so that I can be as helpful as possible. On this form, there is an opportunity to inform me of any other needs your family may have such as clothing or school supply needs.
School Counseling Information Form
As always please reach out to me with any questions or concerns via email or phone and I am happy to help in any way that I can!
Take care,

Transportation Information from Mrs. Wingler 🚌
Happy September!
All students schedules are currently available through the MyRide K-12 App. How to access the App is located on the ACSD website under Departments/Transportation on the right side of the webpage. I have included the link below.
If any student is needing to be picked up or dropped off other than their home location, they MUST fill out an alternate bus stop form before we can transport and return to us by email, fax or dropping off at the office. That form is located in the same area as listed below on the webpage and is also included below.
Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. My email is cwingler@aurora-schools.org.
Car Rider Information
You are the most important piece to ensuring these very important times of the day run smoothly! All of our procedures are in place to protect the safety of our students, staff and visitors. Thank you in advance for your efforts and patience!
ARRIVAL
- Drop off each morning can take place from 8:40-8:55 a.m. Students are not permitted to exit cars until 8:40. Thank you!
- Car riders need to be dropped off following the route detailed in the map below. It is a single file line formed down Hurd Rd. This is the same line used for pick up in the p.m.
- Students can only exit cars on the sidewalk side of the horseshoe. We ask that you please adjust car seats and/or child locks if needed. Parents stay in cars at all times.
- Staff will be outside daily to help students enter the building and navigate to their classroom.
DISMISSAL
- Car rider dismissal begins each day at 3:10, but will be 5-10 minutes earlier the first few weeks of school. Students will be called down as you arrive in our horseshoe. We do this electronically through a Google Doc that all of the staff are watching so they know when to dismiss each car rider.
- All car rider parents will be issued a tag for the backside of their passenger visor with their child's last name on it. These can be secured at Meet and Greet or throughout the school year.
- Parents remain in cars and students will be escorted to their car by a staff member.
- When everything is up and running after a few weeks, car rider dismissal usually takes approximately 15-20 minutes.
Greetings from the Aurora Schools Foundation!
The Aurora Schools Foundation supports imaginative and innovative opportunities for Aurora School students beyond traditional funding. Teachers can submit grant applications in the fall and in the spring. Here is one example of an ASF grant impact spotlight. We are excited to see other grants brought to life this year! Visit auroraschoolsfoundation.org to learn more.
The Aurora Schools Foundation welcomed two exceptional students, Julia Stockdale (AHS junior) and Yashasvi Konduru (AHS senior), as the newest ASF student ambassadors!
You may recognize Yash for his role in establishing Aurora's first-ever Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) at AHS. Yash and the FBLA group secured state and national placements!
You'll likely see Julia eloquently managing her time competing in or photographing sporting events, focusing on her AP studies, creating music, and so much more!
Yash and Julia will dedicate their time and skills to ASF and bring the student perspective to the organization.
