The Peotone Music Program News

Join us for our final full-school Peotone concerts of the year this May! It’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate all the hard work and musical growth our students have achieved. The concert begins at 7:00 PM, with doors opening at 6:45 PM. Please see the form attached below about more details for the choir concert. We’d love to see you there to support our amazing young musicians!

Choir Call Time:

• 6:00 p.m. for all singers

Band Call Times:

• 5:45 p.m. - 5th grade Band
• 6:00 p.m. - 6th grade Band
• 6:15 p.m. - 7-8th grade Band
• 6:30 p.m. - Highschool Band

If you know a 4th or 5th grade student who’s excited about music and interested in joining band, this is the perfect time to get started!

Band Registration Night is on Thursday, May 7, from 5:30–6:30 PM at Peotone Intermediate Center! Families will fill out a contact form, receive help choosing the best instrument fit, and get information on how to rent or purchase all necessary materials through Quinlan & Fabish. It’s a fun and informative evening designed to ensure every student has a great start in band at PIC, PJHS, PHS, and beyond!

It's crazy to think that we are almost at the end of the school year! A reminder that the end of the year Six Flags trip is coming up on May 17th.

Thank you to all the chaperones that are willing to help with the day. It really makes the process of everything go so much smoother!

The registration deadline for the New York trip has been extended to Monday, May 18th! Registration details are posted on the New York Google Classroom page (code to join this page: yimp24hf). Parents and students who have any questions about this exciting trip being planned, please reach out ASAP to Mr. Kowalski (bkowalski@peotoneschools.org) or Ms. Marshall (emarshall@peotoneschools.org). We have already received many registrations but want to extend the deadline for more to come along and experience this fantastic tour of NYC! Any student still interested in going on this exciting trip next school year must register and submit their deposit by May 18th!

Join us on Tuesday, May 21st for a special evening celebrating our talented students at the Spaghetti Dinner and Fine Arts Awards Night! From 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., enjoy a delicious spaghetti dinner with family and friends—all while supporting the music program, as this meal serves as an important fundraiser for our department. The dinner is a paid event, with tickets available for presale. Then, at 6:30 p.m., join us for the Fine Arts Awards—a free event open to everyone in the community—where we will recognize the hard work and achievements of our students in music, art, and more. We hope you’ll join us for a night of great food, inspiring performances, and well-deserved recognition!

Dinner prices are $15 per person, $35 for a family of 3, $40 for a family of 4, and $50 for a family of 5. We hope to see you there for a night of good food, great music, and well-deserved recognition!

Graduation ceremonies for Peotone High School and Junior High are just around the corner! I apologize I made a mistake in last week newsletter. The Junior High School graduation will take place on May 22nd at 7:00 PM, and the High ceremony is on May 23rd at 7:00 PM. Students should plan to arrive around 5:30 p.m. at the PHS auditorium.

The Peotone American Legion hosts a wonderful Memorial Day program at the Peotone Cemetery each year, where the Peotone High School Band has the honor of performing the Melody of Hymns for the military. This year's event will take place on Monday, May 26th, with the program starting at 10:30 AM, following the parade from the Legion to the cemetery at 10:00 AM. We invite you to join us in supporting this meaningful tradition!
