PK-8 Tiger Tracker
Week of February 24th
Hello Tiger Families!
We are BACK! I hope your family had a warm and cozy week! We will be making up the last three snow days on the following Fridays: February 28, March 28 and April 4th. Our calendar is structured to meet the 165 instructional days required by the State of Oklahoma. We build a few additional days into the calendar in case of emergency or inclement weather. When those days are exhausted, any additional inclement weather days are rescheduled.
This is National Public School Week! We are honored to work with your children. As educators, we truly believe in the power of education to shape a bright future for our children. Thank you for partnering with us to create a beautiful community!
Proud to be a Tiger,
Kristi Lovett, Interim Principal

Al Bostick
Al Bostick will be joining us on Monday, February 24th. Mr. Bostick is a Governor's Arts Award winner for his work in education, as well as a recipient of a Citation of Excellence in the State. Bostick is an accomplished storyteller, playwright, actor, and director who pursues excellence. He believes all children can learn once they remove "I can't" from their vocabulary. He will be our featured artist and historian for Black History Month. His traditional African legends and tales are riveting, focusing on rhythm and free-verse storytelling. I am excited that our students have this opportunity!

THE TIGER WAY--FEBRUARY
- This month's character trait is KINDNESS!
- Our Social Skill for February is SHOWING APPRECIATION!
- Academic Vocabulary for February--EXPLAIN & SUMMARIZE!
- We will be focusing on these topics in our Tiger Time. Please ask your student about them!
Behavioral Remediation Time
We have instituted a new strategy for helping students learn responsibility! We are committed to providing a positive, respectful, and focused learning environment for all of our students. We believe that every student has the potential to thrive when they are engaged and respectful of their peers, teachers, and the school community.
In order to maintain this environment, we have implemented a Behavioral Remediation time for students who engage in behaviors that disrupt the learning process or show disrespect toward others. This time, usually during recess, will serve as an opportunity for students to reflect on their actions, take responsibility, and contribute to the school community in a positive way.
During Behavioral Remediation, students may be asked to complete reflection sheets, assist with cleaning and organizing, or engage in other community service-oriented tasks. These activities are designed to encourage personal growth and help students better understand the impact of their behavior on the school environment.
We appreciate your support in reinforcing the importance of respect, responsibility, and collaboration at school and at home. Together, we can help all of our students grow into responsible and caring individuals who contribute positively to the world around them.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
READING
Please encourage your students to READ (together or independently) for at least 20 minutes a day! THIS IS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU CAN DO TO HELP YOUR STUDENT ACHIEVE!
