Library News

This week, Pre-K students learned about the Caldecott Medal and we used the spinning wheel of names to select one or two students from each class to choose a Caldecott Medal or Honor-winning book to read aloud that day. We talked about being good sports if your name is not selected, and students did a great job cheering for their friends who were selected.

Come get some amazing Black History Month books to share with your family, or email me and I'll be happy to put together a selection for you and send books home through your child's backpack.

Pre-K families: If you have not yet returned your library contract, it is due next Friday, February 13. If you need an additional copy, please email Leslie or download and print it here.

Check the DEI book cart for some exciting new books. Many thanks to Angela Gabriel and Charis Books & More for the generous donation of books for our cart. This cart is completely self-service and is located across from Ms. Caretha's desk in the lobby.

This week's books (one-, two-, and three-year-old classes):

The Bakery Dragon and the Fairy Cake by Devin Elle Kurtz

Everyone Can Learn to Ride a Bicycle by Chris Raschka

The Birthday Book by Todd Parr (for Ms. Asia's birthday!)

Little Blue Truck Makes a Friend by Alice Schertle and Jill McElmurry

Seven Little Ducklings by Annette LeBlanc Cate
