Student Device Insurance - Enrollment Extended Until October 29

Device insurance for student devices has moved to a new system for the 2026-27 school year. Families who wish to participate must enroll by October 29 through your PowerSchool Parent Portal account.

  • Enrollment Cost: $30 per student device
  • Free/Reduced Meal Students: $0 enrollment cost
  • How to Enroll: Log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal account and complete the Insurance Form under "Forms." Via the PowerSchool app, go to "More," then "Forms." The $30 enrollment fee will be collected within the form.
Insurance can significantly reduce the cost of repairs or replacement. With insurance, the cost for a standard repair is $40, while lost or stolen devices have a $100 replacement fee. Without insurance, families are responsible for the increased repair or full replacement costs. Visit the One-to-One Learning page of our website for additional Student Device FAQs and responsibilities.

💦4th Grade Water Safety Field Trip!

Our 4th-grade students had an amazing time on their water safety field trip at the YMCA! This trip provided a valuable opportunity for students to practice important preventative, reactionary, and lifesaving water safety techniques. These are skills that can make a real difference in their safety and confidence around water.

A big thank you to Coach Crawford and Coach Stapleton for organizing this fantastic trip! We’re so grateful for the experience and the fun memories made. Enjoy the pictures below

💚Dwarfism Awareness - Wear Green!

Sunday, October 25, is Dwarfism Awareness Day! In honor of Crew, Corrina’s youngest son, we’re invited to wear green on Thursday, October 22. Crew has a rare form of dwarfism called Cartilage Hair Hypoplasia and received a bone marrow transplant at just one year old to help strengthen his immune system. He will celebrate seven years post-transplant this coming March! Crew is an active, outdoors-loving boy who enjoys wrestling, baseball, fishing, and hunting. Let’s show our support for Crew and help spread awareness! 💚

🎃 Trunk or Treat Was a Spooktacular Success! 🎃

What a fun night at Siegrist’s annual Trunk or Treat! A huge thank-you to Mrs. Simon’s Community Involvement Action Team, our Pirates ROCK partners, everyone who decorated a trunk, and all those who donated candy and trinkets. Your generosity helped make sure every child went home with treats and a smile!

The costumes were amazing, and the trunks were fantastic! We couldn’t pick just a few favorites, so we’re sharing ALL the photos taken by Mrs. McCutcheon and Mrs. Jeffries! Thank you for making this such a memorable night for our Siegrist families!

🔎Lost & Found Update!

We’re excited to share that Mrs. LaHue and Ms. Huddle will be in charge of the Lost & Found this year! To help us keep things organized and make it easier to get lost items back to their owners, we’ve enlisted some wonderful 3rd–5th grade student leaders to lend a hand.

Our student leaders will help us by:

  • Taking pictures of items that have been turned in (we will do our best to update images approximately every 2 weeks)
  • Checking our Lost & Found request form
  • Returning claimed items to their owners

Lost something? First, take a look through the Lost & Found photos on our Google Drive to see if you can spot your missing item. If you find it, please fill out the Google Form below with a description of the item. Our student leaders will periodically check the form and search the Lost & Found for matching items. When an item is identified, we’ll work to get it back to its owner!

We encourage students to check the Lost & Found regularly and parents to check the Lost & Found photos on Google Drive regularly. This helps us tremendously in getting items home!

Please. please, please, put child's name on lunchboxes, water containers, hats, coats, backpacks, clothing. This will help us keep out lost and found to a manageable amount.

Know a Pirate Who's "CRUSHING IT"? Nominate Them for Orange Crush!

Platte County School District is starting a new tradition to recognize the employees who make a difference every day.

Orange Crush celebrates Pirates who are “CRUSHING IT” in the ways they support our students, staff, schools and community. From creating meaningful experiences and welcoming environments to showing exceptional care and making a positive impact, Orange Crush gives us a chance to shine a light on the people behind the everyday moments that matter.

All employee groups are eligible to be nominated throughout the school year. Nominations will be reviewed by the District's Executive Leadership Team, and every nominee will be acknowledged for the positive impact they are making across our District with at least one (or maybe more!) nominees selected monthly as an Orange Crush honoree.

Celebrations and Birthdays

We believe it is important for the school to recognize our students on their birthday and other special days. However, for several reasons including increased food allergies and preservation of the instructional day, students are not allowed to bring treats from home or have flowers/balloons or other items delivered to the classroom for birthdays, going-away parties, or other personal events. Each classroom teacher will recognize the student in a special way to celebrate his or her birthday.

If a student receives a delivery at school, the student will be notified to come to the office to view the item. Parents will be responsible for transporting the item home. Birthday party invitations may only be distributed if invitations are given to every student in the class.
