đŚ4th Grade Water Safety Field Trip!
Our 4th-grade students had an amazing time on their water safety field trip at the YMCA! This trip provided a valuable opportunity for students to practice important preventative, reactionary, and lifesaving water safety techniques. These are skills that can make a real difference in their safety and confidence around water.
A big thank you to Coach Crawford and Coach Stapleton for organizing this fantastic trip! Weâre so grateful for the experience and the fun memories made. Enjoy the pictures below

đDwarfism Awareness - Wear Green!
Sunday, October 25, is Dwarfism Awareness Day! In honor of Crew, Corrinaâs youngest son, weâre invited to wear green on Thursday, October 22. Crew has a rare form of dwarfism called Cartilage Hair Hypoplasia and received a bone marrow transplant at just one year old to help strengthen his immune system. He will celebrate seven years post-transplant this coming March! Crew is an active, outdoors-loving boy who enjoys wrestling, baseball, fishing, and hunting. Letâs show our support for Crew and help spread awareness! đ

Through this program you can learn more about parenting and child development, learn ways to cope with challenges of family life, identify any potential delays in your child's development, and join fun group connections to meet other families in the Parents as Teachers program.

đLost & Found Update!
Weâre excited to share that Mrs. LaHue and Ms. Huddle will be in charge of the Lost & Found this year! To help us keep things organized and make it easier to get lost items back to their owners, weâve enlisted some wonderful 3rdâ5th grade student leaders to lend a hand.
Our student leaders will help us by:
- Taking pictures of items that have been turned in (we will do our best to update images approximately every 2 weeks)
- Checking our Lost & Found request form
- Returning claimed items to their owners
Lost something? First, take a look through the Lost & Found photos on our Google Drive to see if you can spot your missing item. If you find it, please fill out the Google Form below with a description of the item. Our student leaders will periodically check the form and search the Lost & Found for matching items. When an item is identified, weâll work to get it back to its owner!
We encourage students to check the Lost & Found regularly and parents to check the Lost & Found photos on Google Drive regularly. This helps us tremendously in getting items home!
Please. please, please, put child's name on lunchboxes, water containers, hats, coats, backpacks, clothing. This will help us keep out lost and found to a manageable amount.

Know a Pirate Who's "CRUSHING IT"? Nominate Them for Orange Crush!
Platte County School District is starting a new tradition to recognize the employees who make a difference every day.
Orange Crush celebrates Pirates who are âCRUSHING ITâ in the ways they support our students, staff, schools and community. From creating meaningful experiences and welcoming environments to showing exceptional care and making a positive impact, Orange Crush gives us a chance to shine a light on the people behind the everyday moments that matter.
All employee groups are eligible to be nominated throughout the school year. Nominations will be reviewed by the District's Executive Leadership Team, and every nominee will be acknowledged for the positive impact they are making across our District with at least one (or maybe more!) nominees selected monthly as an Orange Crush honoree.

Didn't get signed up? No worries! If you arrive without a reservation, weâll add you if space is available. If weâre full, weâll help you sign up for another day, and you can still leave the lunch for your student.
Questions? Give our office a callâweâre happy to help!
Celebrations and Birthdays
We believe it is important for the school to recognize our students on their birthday and other special days. However, for several reasons including increased food allergies and preservation of the instructional day, students are not allowed to bring treats from home or have flowers/balloons or other items delivered to the classroom for birthdays, going-away parties, or other personal events. Each classroom teacher will recognize the student in a special way to celebrate his or her birthday.
If a student receives a delivery at school, the student will be notified to come to the office to view the item. Parents will be responsible for transporting the item home. Birthday party invitations may only be distributed if invitations are given to every student in the class.
Changes to Student Transportation
To make a long-term transportation change, use the form linked here. After you form is completed, please notify the child school to let them know of the change.
All daily request, please notify your student's school office of any address and bus changes by 2pm if possible so arrangements can be made. To ensure that your change is made, please email all three of our Administration Assistance. klopp.annemarie@pcr3schools.org, itao.tracy@pcr3schools.org and mausolf.berenice@pcr3schools.org Thank you!
Thank you for your cooperation in our efforts to transport our students - your children - in a safe and timely manner.
Student safety comes first!
To help ensure the safety of our students, we will no longer be heating student breakfast or lunch meals in the microwave. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep our school community safe.
