Welcome Back Clearwater Elementary STEAM Families,
Clearwater 3rd Grade Presentation to the Board
On 3/13/25, a panel of our 3rd grade students confidently presented a summary of their PBL to the school board. Their professionalism, pride, and deep understanding of their learning truly shined. A huge thank you to our 3rd grade team for the thoughtful planning and powerful integration of STEAM into this project, and to Dr. Stuart for your support in preparing our student panel. Way to go, Clearwater!
ART PBL
This week, we’d like to shine a spotlight on our Art Teacher, Ms. Prout! She has been doing incredible work integrating Project-Based Learning into the art classroom, thoughtfully aligning her units with NGSS standards. From K to 6th grade, Ms. Prout has brought science and art together in creative, meaningful ways. Most recently, our first grade students proudly showcased their science-inspired art projects with the Clearwater community—what a wonderful celebration of learning! Thank you, Ms. Prout!
Dive into STEAM
Our second Dive into STEAM event was a huge success! A heartfelt thank you to our amazing teachers for planning such engaging, hands-on activities that sparked curiosity and excitement for both students and families. We’re also incredibly grateful to all the parents who attended and supported their children—your involvement makes a powerful difference. Research consistently shows that when families are actively engaged in their child’s education, students perform better academically, attend school more regularly, and show greater motivation and self-confidence. Thank you for being such an important part of our Clearwater community!
Field Trips
This week was full of adventure and hands-on learning for our students! On Thursday, our 1st grade team brought Wild Wonders to Clearwater, giving students the chance to learn about and observe a variety of animals up close—an exciting and memorable experience! Meanwhile, our 6th grade students took a trip to San Diego’s Wild Animal Park, where they made meaningful connections between their classroom learning and the real world. Huge thanks to our staff for making these enriching opportunities possible!

ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Attendance Matters - EVERY Day / La asistencia importa: ¡CADA día
There is so much learning going on every day at Clearwater - we don't want our students to miss a moment! As much as we like long weekends, missing a Monday or a Friday can have a big impact on students' achievement. We want to see every student at school, every day. Students earn Splash Cash for attending school each day, and DOUBLE the Splash Cash if they are at school every day for the week - including Monday and Friday.
