From the Principal...
Dear MacArthur Family,
I hope the sunshine has brought you a sense of peace as we eagerly anticipate the arrival of true spring weather! As we settle back in after spring break, MacArthur has been buzzing with unique and exciting learning experiences. With the "final stretch" of the school year ahead, energy is high, and we are eager to finish strong. Our scholars have been actively engaged in assemblies, field trips, classroom discoveries, and personal growth—all moments we take great pride in. Our Destination Imagination teams did absolutely amazing at the regional tournament. The 3rd-5th grade teams are state-bound! Although the 2nd grade teams are not eligible to compete on the state-level, the Rising Stars performed amazingly. Check out some photos below. Way to go, DI!
Looking ahead, our 3rd-5th-grade scholars will continue to participate in the Wisconsin Forward Exam. This state-mandated assessment measures student progress in alignment with Wisconsin's academic standards. Students in grades 3-8 will take assessments in English Language Arts and Math, while 4th and 8th graders will also complete Science and Social Studies assessments.
Our updated Forward Exam schedule is now available—simply click the "Updated Forward Schedule" button below to view it. We encourage you to support your child by reminding them to take the exam seriously and give their best effort. The results will help guide our educators in making informed decisions to support student success while also providing insight into academic performance across our school community.
Next week promises to be an exciting one with our Golden Guest events and Book Fair! As we embrace these final months of the school year, we want to express how incredibly proud we are of your scholars and the remarkable growth they continue to show. Wishing you all the best in the weeks ahead!
Best regards,
Mr. Gonzalez

News from the PTA
There are so many exciting PTA events starting today!!
Our dance is tonight from 6-8PM in the gym. The theme is Outer Space so come with all your space or alien related dance clothes! There will be a DJ, glow in the dark fun items, a photo booth and snacks! Remember, at least one parent needs to stay with their student or student group so make sure the parents are dressed for space and ready to dance! Please be sure to either have on tennis shoes or socks when dancing in the gym to save the floors.
Tonight is also the first night of the Spring Book Fair so when your feet are tired of tapping, take a break and blast off to the library to shop for books. You can add money to your student's wallet here so they can purchase books cash free. There are teacher wish lists so make sure you take a look and help out a teacher if you can.
Our Golden Guest lunches start next week. Your Golden Guest should bring a lunch for themselves and are free to bring one for their lunch buddies as well. After eating, the student will have a chance to show their guest (or guests) the book fair!
We enjoy putting on these events that the students love so much but always need help to make sure they are a success. Please sign to help with the book fair here and sign up here to help with Golden Guest lunches.
Our Spring Spirit Wear sale begins on Monday. We will be sending out the link to the store first thing on Monday morning so be ready to get your swag! We will have Germantown gear in addition to the MacArthur items.
Today is the last day to order yearbooks. Make sure you order one for each child so they can get them signed on the last day of school! Please order them here.
Get ready to scream for frozen yogurt!! Our April restaurant fundraiser will be at Smart Cow on Tuesday April 22nd. So mark your calendar (or use ours) so that starting at 4PM on the 22nd, you can have a delicious treat and help out the PTA.
Our annual Fun Run will be on May 1st so keep your eyes open for info on that coming out next week!
Speaking of next week, our PTA meeting will be held on Thursday, April 10th at 7PM in the library. We will be going over the schedule for the rest of the year and beginning discussion for next year. We also have a very important item to discuss next week:
Become a Board Member
As we get closer to the end of the year, it is time to look ahead. We have two PTA board openings, President and Secretary. Both of these positions have a two year term. The president presides at the meetings and performs duties to keep the PTA functioning at a high and compliant level. The secretary will record and retain the minutes of all the meetings and maintain a current copy of the bylaws and membership list. If anyone is interested in serving in one of these positions, they must be a paid MacArthur PTA member and be able to either attend the April meeting on Thursday, April 10th to introduce themselves. This can be either in person or online. The elections for this position will be held during the May meeting on Thursday, May 8th. If you have any questions about these positions or the process, please email us at ptamacarthur@gmail.com.As always, child care will be provided if you come in person and you are always welcome to join online here.
We hope to see you all at these events as we begin to close out such an exciting school year!
Please reach out to the MacArthur PTA at ptamacarthur@gmail.com with any questions.
