Yesterday, our Year 5/6 students proudly represented our school at the Interschool Soccer Carnival. It is always so encouraging to see them display such enthusiasm, teamwork, sportsmanship, and determination throughout the day. The carnival provided a great opportunity for all students to develop their skills, build confidence, and enjoy healthy competition in a positive environment. Thank you to the staff and parents who helped make the day such a success. We are very proud of the way all our students represented our school both on and off the field.

Well done and thank you to those of you who accompanied your children on the Walk to School day today! While we acknowledge and totally understand it isn’t always possible to do this on a regular basis, trying to build in some days each term where your child can ride or scoot to school is such a great thing to do. Great for fitness, great for wellbeing, great for relationship building, great for developing greater road safety awareness and great for easing congestion and caring for the environment!

Thank you to everyone who attended today’s P&F meeting. Your ongoing support, ideas, and willingness to give your time to our school community are greatly appreciated. Meetings such as these are a wonderful opportunity to work together, share ideas, and continue building a strong partnership between home and school for the benefit of our children. We value your involvement and look forward to another positive and productive term ahead

Next week we will celebrate Wellness Week across our school. Each term, this special week on the term calendar provides an opportunity for all of us to pause, slow down, and reflect on our wellbeing journey. Here at St Bernie’s we use Wellbeing Data regularly with our staff and students to reflect on our processes and practices with the goal to continuously improve culture, sense of connectedness and hope, as this is closely related to growth and academic improvement for our students.

This week encourages us to think about how we are feeling, what is working well in our lives, and what small changes we might need to make to support our physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing.

The Self-Care Check is a quick and simple self-assessment tool designed by Beyond Blue to help give you greater clarity and confidence in how to strengthen your personal wellbeing.

Just a ‘heads-up’ that the next week is an extremely busy one for me as I have a lot of system commitments outside of school. Early in the week, I have been asked to sit on a QCESR (School Review) panel up in Perth and on Friday myself, Caitlin and Tracy are in Perth for a Leadership Cluster Network Meeting.

The weather forecast for Port Kennedy is looking good for the weekend and the remainder of next week. A reminder that the Community Mass and Sausage Sizzle is being held this Saturday night! I’ll look forward to seeing you there!

Dear St Bernadettes,

We just wanted to say a huge thank you for all the beautiful messages for our nurses, the generous gifts and the very special touches. You really went all out, we cannot thank you enough.

We were gifting the nurses a pin to celebrate 50th birthday of the hospital, and your goodies went along beautifully with those.

Thank you again!

Signing in & out of school

In order to keep all our students safe, please ensure that if your child arrives after 8.35am and/or leaves before the end of the school day, that they are signed in and out at the office. If they are signed out for an appointment they should always be signed back in at the office if they are returning to school. Thank you for your assistance.

Antibiotics Administered School

Please note we can only administer medication/antibiotics if the prescribed dosage is 4 times a day. If the dosage is 3 times a day, we ask that you please administer this before school, after school and in the evening. Thank you for your understanding.

In the Catholic tradition, our parish and school are closely connected.

The parish, led by Father Giovanni, provides spiritual leadership and is responsible for ensuring we nurture students’ faith alongside academic learning. The school supports the parish by helping children grow in Catholic values, preparing them for sacraments, and encouraging family participation in parish life.

It’s essentially a partnership — the parish is the faith community, and the school is one of its key ministries. For more information about our Parish, please click here:
