CME Blast September 17, 2026
News from Candice
Happy Fall to you all!
The weather has finally become more bearable and pumpkin spice is EV-ERY-WHERE! On Monday, the teachers will be working hard during our Professional Development Day on writing instruction. I hope you all do something fun with the extra day!
Join the CME School Accountability Committee (SAC)!
If you are interested in serving on the Copper Mesa Elementary SAC, please complete the nomination form below by September 30, 2026.
About the Committee:
The SAC meets regularly to advise administration on key school priorities, including budget and funding, class sizes, curriculum, and school safety.
Open Leadership Positions: We are seeking parents to fill the following open positions for this school year (because these are two-year positions, nominees must be current CME parents with a child enrolled in 4th grade or younger):
Chair: Facilitates monthly meetings and works with administration to set meeting agendas.
Vice Chair: Supports the Chair and steps in to lead meetings when needed.
Recorder: Takes brief meeting minutes and keeps track of committee records.
DAC Representative: Serves as CME’s liaison to the District Accountability Committee (DAC) and attends monthly district-level meetings.
Please note: All parents are welcome to attend and participate in any SAC meeting throughout the year, even if you do not hold an official leadership role!
Next Steps: Once nominations close on October 1, a voting ballot will be sent out to the full CME parent community.
Ninja Nation Fundraiser
Our students are doing an amazing job of getting those fundraising dollars! As of today, we are 60% to our $30,000 goal!!
Help us decide how to spend our fundraiser money!
Cast Your Vote: Vote here by September 21st.
Winning Announcement: We will share the winning project before the event so you know exactly what your child is raising money for!
If you have any questions at all, please email us at cmeapto@gmail.com.
Important Note Regarding Email & Spam Filters
We have noticed that emails sent between staff and families are occasionally being directed into Spam/Junk folders on both sides. This is a district-wide Google filter issue beyond our school's control, and we know how frustrating missed communications can be!
To help ensure we don't miss each other:
Check Your Spam Folder: Please check your Spam or Junk folder regularly, especially if you are waiting on a response from a teacher or school staff member.
Mark as "Not Spam": If you find a school email in your spam folder, select "Report Not Spam" or add the sender’s email address to your Google Contacts. This helps train Google to deliver future messages directly to your inbox.
Follow Up: If you send a time-sensitive email and do not hear back within 24–48 hours, please feel free to send a follow-up or reach out via phone or classroom app. We will be doing the same on our end!
Thank you for being THE most amazing community!!
With gratitude,
Candice
