Providence Hall High School
A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
This month, as we focus on collaboration, we celebrate a powerful reminder of what working together can accomplish: our football team’s first win in over a year and a half and the very first on our own field. This victory didn’t come from one player alone. It came from dedication, communication, and the trust built between teammates, coaches, and supporters.
Babe Ruth once said, “The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars, but if they don’t play together, the club won’t be worth a dime.” The same is true for our school community. Our success depends not on individual effort alone but on the way we collaborate. Teachers, students, families, and staff each contribute their unique strengths to create something greater than ourselves. When we choose to communicate openly and work together with purpose, we build a school community where everyone can thrive.

PATRIOT SPOTLIGHT
UNLEASHING LEADERSHIP, INNOVATION, AND ADVENTURE
Providence Hall’s Navy JROTC program is charging into an exciting new chapter under the leadership of our new instructor, Chief Warrant Officer Brian Dillon. This year, cadets are gaining access to innovative opportunities that go far beyond the classroom, preparing them for leadership roles and real-world challenges.
Cadets will have the chance to join competitive teams in Drones, Underwater Robotics, and CyberPatriot, all programs that mirror the cutting-edge demands of today’s military and technology industries. These initiatives provide students with hands-on skills in engineering, teamwork, and problem-solving—preparing them for future academic and career success.
The program is already off to a strong start. This summer, new cadets experienced a high-energy orientation, while returning cadets made their mark at the Utah Leadership Academy in Salt Lake City. Our Color Guard also proudly represented Providence Hall in community parades, showcasing the discipline and professionalism that define NJROTC.
Looking ahead, cadets will participate in unforgettable experiences, from field trips to military installations and challenging courses at Camp Williams to serving their community in Wreaths Across America this December. The year will culminate in the much-anticipated Military Ball, where cadets celebrate their achievements with tradition, camaraderie, and style.
Providence Hall’s NJROTC program is more than a class—it’s a gateway to leadership, service, and lifelong growth. With new opportunities on the horizon, this year promises to be one of the most dynamic in program history.
A LIFE OF SERVICE, NOW INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION
Providence Hall proudly welcomes Chief Warrant Officer Three (SEAL/SWCC) Brian Dillon, USN (Ret.) as the newest leader of our Navy JROTC program. With nearly three decades of distinguished service in the United States Navy, CWO3 Dillon brings unmatched experience, leadership, and passion to our students.
Born in Bountiful, Utah, and a graduate of Layton High School, Dillon enlisted in the Navy in 1998. His career path is nothing short of extraordinary: from serving as a Surface Rescue Swimmer aboard the USS Valley Forge, to becoming a Special Warfare Combatant-Craft Crewman, and later graduating from the legendary Basic Underwater Demolition SEAL (BUD/S) Training.
Over his 27 years of service, he completed numerous overseas deployments with SEAL Teams EIGHT and TEN, instructed future warriors in advanced land warfare and maritime combat swimmer tactics, and served as the Training Officer at Naval Special Warfare Basic Training Command in Coronado, California. His career reflects a deep commitment to excellence, earning him multiple commendations, including six Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medals, two Combat Action Ribbons, and recognition for both leadership and valor in combat.
What drew Dillon to Providence Hall was the opportunity to mentor young people and help them unlock their potential through NJROTC. “This program is about more than military training—it’s about building leadership, confidence, and resilience in our cadets,” he shares.
Outside of school, CWO3 Dillon is a dedicated husband to his wife Lynlee and proud father of two children, Barrett (14) and Brentley (10).
His vision for the NJROTC program combines innovation with tradition, creating opportunities for cadets to grow academically, physically, and personally. Families can look forward to seeing his influence as Providence Hall’s NJROTC continues to expand and thrive under his guidance.
We are truly fortunate to have Chief Warrant Officer Brian Dillon leading our NJROTC program. His experience, dedication, and vision bring incredible opportunities to our students, and we are excited to see the program continue to grow, achieve great things, and positively impact the lives of our cadets for years to come.
