Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year!

Welcome back to Tyson!

We are so excited to see you for the new 2026-2027 school year! We are so happy to be your NEW principal and assistant principal!

We hope you had a great summer. To our families returning to Tyson, welcome back! To our new families, we are so happy you are here! Tyson is a special place because of all the students and families we serve.

Our teachers and staff are ready to help all students learn and grow. We are excited for a great year of learning and new friendships.

Please note our new breakfast schedule. The building will be open at 7:30 for students Tuesday-Friday to eat their breakfast in the MPR. At 7:50 they will be released to class, and breakfast will end at 8:00. Students will be marked tardy after 8:00. Mondays will be an hour later for late start. Please see the graphic below.

Tyson Dismissal Procedure

Take a look at the map below for dismissal procedures.

Students who walk up the stairs will be released after the bell rings.
Students who ride the bus will be released when the bell rings as well.
All the rest of students, waiting for their rides to come to the front, will wait in their classrooms to be called out to the front when their ride communicates with the staff working the line that day.
For adults parking and walking up to pick up your students, please approach a staff member outside to radio for them to come out front (please do not come into the office unless it is an emergency).

Raptor Visitor Management System

As part of our ongoing commitment to student safety, all visitors to Tyson are required to check in through the Raptor Visitor Management System. When you arrive, please be prepared to present a valid government-issued ID (such as a driver’s license) at the front office. The system quickly scans your ID and prints a visitor badge that must be worn while you’re in the building.

PBIS Updates: SAEBRS Screener

This year, our school will use a universal social-emotional-behavior screener during our assessment Fall (September), Winter (December), and Spring (April). It's called the Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavior Risk Screener (SAEBRS). This screener helps teachers find needed classroom structures and identify students who might benefit from extra support. Our PBIS team will use this information to help us ensure that we are supporting all our students and meeting their social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Classroom teachers will rate students outside of learning time so no instructional time is lost. Please contact your principal with any questions.
