Message from the Principal
Respect is one of the most powerful tools we can teach our children, and practice makes perfect. At school, students encounter many moments throughout the day that require patience and self-control, like waiting their turn at the playground, letting another student go first in line, or listening quietly when someone else is speaking. You can help your child build these life skills at home through quick, role-playing games. Try setting up everyday scenarios, such as practicing how to wait patiently for a turn on a favorite game, taking deep breaths when feeling frustrated about not being first, or using kind words when sharing a space. Asking simple questions like, "What could we do if a friend is using the toy we want?" or "How should we respond if someone says they won't be your friend anymore?" gives your child a safe space to brainstorm positive responses. By practicing these moments together, you can help your kids build empathy, manage their feelings, and foster a kind, respectful community both in the classroom and at home.
Have a great weekend!

WILDCAT LEADER MEETING
Our Quarter 1 Wildcat Leaders held their second meeting on Tuesday, October 20! We welcomed high school students from the National Honor Society, who taught us ways to keep our bodies healthy and safe. Perfect timing as we get ready for Red Ribbon Week! Our Wildcat Leaders colored ribbons, made posters, and delivered them to classrooms. We’re excited to celebrate Red Ribbon Week on October 26–28! Remember wildcats, Respect starts with us, and taking care of ourselves is part of the Wildcat Way!

Veterans Day Program
This school year we are excited to celebrate the amazing veterans connected to the Webster school community. On Wednesday, November 11th, we will be holding a short school assembly to say thank you. If you or a close relative, friend or neighbor are a veteran you're invited to join us. Veterans can begin arriving between 8:00-8:15am with our assembly running from 8:30-9:00am on Wednesday, November 11th in the Webster gymnasium. In an effort to plan ahead we ask that any veterans planning to attend RSVP via the link below by Friday, November 6th.
Due to limited space, we do ask that only our veteran guests, and not all family members attend.

Gifts for Watertown Kids Registration Form Due October 31 at 3:00pm
Watertown Family Aid works each year to distribute Christmas gifts to children from birth through fifth grade whose families are struggling financially. This program is intended to be only for families residing in the Watertown Unified School District boundaries who are in need of some assistance.
We require all families to show up at an assigned appointment time to pick up their gifts at a Watertown location. We are hoping to get enough donations so that we can give each child a gift worth an approximate value of $25.
IF you meet the financial qualification guidelines below and are in need of some assistance this holiday season, please complete the online application. You can access it at the following link: https://forms.gle/9z7c8vuEahh9WHqj9
If you choose to apply, please mark Saturday, November 21st on your calendar. The gift pick-up will be held on that day only. No gifts will be distributed after this date. Watch for an assignment letter to come in the mail in early to mid-November. The letter will list your assigned pick-up time as well as details about where the distribution will be held.
Remember, all applications must be received no later than Saturday, October 31st at 3:00 p.m. Any applications received after that date will not be processed.
