Holy Rosary School Derby

What a fabulous day was had on Friday 29th of August for our annual faction Athletics Carnival and FUDGE Day Races. There was a great turnout from all of our families with some very exciting races and events. It was also wonderful to see our smallest students from Kindy join in the activities and have fun racing each other in their age group races. The highlight event was the FUDGE Tug-o-war with many students trying beat their FUDGE but in true FUDGE strength they won most of the challenges. Thank you to Miss Alexis for organising the carnival and to all the staff and volunteers on the day for making this another successful Holy Rosary event.

The Bungarun Pilgrimage and Mass was held on Sunday 17th August and was a very successful event. Over 200 people attended on the day, travelling from across Western Australia to participate in this significant healing event. Bishop Tim officiated on the day, with the support of Father Steve and Father Liam (Broome). Thank you to the families who attended the event and also a thank you to all the Holy Rosary Staff who supported in various ways on the day to make it a very successful and healing event.

Please can I ask that families DO NOT allow children to bring special items to school, unless for specific news telling which will be organised by the classroom teacher. There have been a few issues across the school with items and it is not a staff responsibility to look after these items during the day (unless organised by the classroom teacher). Any toys or equipment required for children to use during the day will be supplied by the school.

Head lice - please can families regularly check their children's head for head lice and treat as soon as lice is identified. Any child that has shoulder length hair MUST have all hair pulled up and away from their face (we do not encourage half up hair styles). hair may need to be treated more regularly to break the head lice cycle and a reminder that all bedding or fabric such as on lounge chairs, should be treated to assist in the breaking of the cycle.

A reminder to families that crocs and thongs are not appropriate footwear for students from Year 1 - 6. All students from Year 1 - 6 are required to wear shoes each day or they will not be permitted to play. We understand that it can be difficult to get new shoes in town but request that families minimise the wearing of the wrong shoes to school. We thank you for your support.

Please ensure that the school is supplied with a current medical action plan for your child, if they need one. Parents are required to provide the school with a new plan if that changes throughout the year.

It is essential for Health Care Card holders to complete the necessary form immediately to be eligible for the school fee discount. Please come into the Admin to provide details at the start of the new school year.

All Health care Cards MUST be current so if yours has expired please come in and provide the updated details to Miss Jenna in Admin.
