What have schools done with PBIS this year? What have schools done with PBIS this year?

Elementary Schools

LBA has created YouTube videos that are shared with students and staff to build excitement about PBIS. Check out one below!

Sonia Sotomayor hosted an assembly/all-school dance party to introduce their school-wide expectations to students! All students and staff wore their "Una Manada" shirts!

They also have staff provide each other "acknowledgement tickets," like staff do for students!

Rosa Parks Elementary has handed out over 150,000 ROAR tickets to students and staff this school year! That means they have had over 150,000 positive interactions with students and staff! Rosa recognizes Top Wildcats each month. Staff submit names of students who show the ROAR (Respect, Ownership, Attitude, Responsibility) expectations. The student's picture is hung in the hallway with a positive note from that staff member. The students are then celebrated by receiving that positive note and a Top Wildcat Rosa Parks Elementary t-shirt!

Robert Frost/Challenge Center just added new decals showing the Roadrunner Way. Their students on CICO and those who receive positive recognition with a Roadrunner Way Slip can earn rewards and possibly hear their name on the morning announcements for everyone to celebrate! Students who earn a Roadrunner Way Slip also earn brag tags to add to their backpack!

Harvey Dunn uses Terrific Tiger slips throughout each week to highlight their students who ROAR (Respect, Ownership, Attitude, Responsibility). One copy of the slip goes home with the student and the carbon copy is put into our Terrific Tiger basket in the office. Each Friday, students are drawn from the basket for each grade level and celebrated at lunch with a little something extra. These students and their actions are also highlighted in our Monday morning message.

Memorial has put a spin on office referrals and developed positive office referrals! Students complete a form to recognize the student. The referral is brought to the office for administration to fill out as well. This is then presented to the student with treats, CARES cards, etc. They then call home ad let the parents know their child had a positive office referral.

Each student also has two positive postcards sent home from a teacher each year. The postcard includes Memorial's core values.

CARES cards are accessible to all staff in the building, and students can receive them when modeling the CORE values of Community, Respect, Act Responsibly, or Excellence. The cards can be exchanged for different items/trinkets.

Ben Reifel had a celebration for meeting their goal of reducing the number of SWIS referrals entered over a two-week period. Below are pictures of students enjoying choice time.

Ben Reifel also acknowledges students (and staff!) by providing a "Best in the Herd" award and a student of the month award.
