5th Grade Newsletter
We can’t believe we’ve already been in school for two months! We have loved seeing our students learn, grow, and settle into their routines. We have another short week ahead, with no school on Friday.
- End of Grading Period – Thursday: The grading period ends this Thursday. Students with missing assignments should speak with their teachers to ensure they have an opportunity to make up any missing work before the grading period ends.
- Yearbook Photos – Deadline October 4th: Please be sure to select your child's yearbook photo by October 4th. If a photo has not been selected by the deadline, St. John will choose one for your child.
Thank you for your continued support! We hope you have a wonderful week!

What We're Learning
Math
We are approaching the last week of the grading period and our unit test in math covering each topic we have learned so far.
Home practice will be sent to help your child master these concepts at home. Look for specifics from your math teacher.
Our test is Wednesday, Sept. 30th We will complete test corrections on Thursday. Please let us know if your child will not be here these days, as we cannot give the test when we return from break for credit on this first report card.
Over the next few days, students will get pulled to work in small groups, play review games, and have time to work on incomplete assignments. It is your child’s responsibility to complete them and then let the teacher know the assignment is complete so we can update their grade. Any missing assignments by Thursday will be taken as a "0."
Thank you for your support at home!
