Coquina Connection
October 2026
STEM Reveal Success
The STEM Lab Reveal was a tremendous success and a proud moment for our entire Coquina Elementary community! Students, staff, families, and special guests were excited to experience our newly transformed learning space, made possible through the generous $50,000 grant from Florida Power & Light. The event showcased the incredible opportunities our students now have to explore science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics through hands-on, innovative learning experiences. Thank you to everyone who helped make this special day a celebration of creativity, curiosity, and the bright future ahead for our students.

National Walk to School Day
We are excited to celebrate National Walk to School Day and would love to see a large turnout from our Coquina staff! Come walk to school alongside our students and staff as we promote healthy habits, school spirit, and community connections. We look forward to seeing everyone bright and early for this special event!
Friday Lunch with Your Student
We are excited to invite families to join their child for Friday Lunch with Your Student! This special opportunity allows parents and guardians to enjoy lunch with their child, celebrate their hard work, and create meaningful memories during the school day.
Important Reminders:
- This is an outdoor seating event.
- In the event of inclement weather, Friday Lunch with Your Student will be canceled, as an indoor alternative is not available.
- All visitors must check in through the front office and present a valid photo ID before proceeding to the lunch area.
We look forward to welcoming our families to campus and making lunchtime a special experience for our students!
No Tardy Party
The No Tardy Party celebrates students who make being on time a priority! Arriving to school and class on time each day helps students start learning right away, participate in important instruction, and stay connected with their classmates and teachers. Every minute counts, and being on time helps our Cougars build strong habits that lead to academic success.
Parent/Teacher Conference Night - October 27
Join us for Parent/Teacher Conference Night on Tuesday, October 27, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This is an excellent opportunity to meet with your child's teacher, discuss academic progress, celebrate achievements, and work together to support your child's success throughout the school year.
Conference appointments are limited and evening time slots fill quickly. To schedule a conference with your child's teacher, please call the Coquina Elementary School Front Office at 321-264-3060 as soon as possible. We look forward to partnering with our families and seeing you on October 27!
Coquina Book Character Parade
Get ready for a day full of reading fun and imagination! On Friday, October 30, Coquina Elementary students and staff are invited to dress up as their favorite book characters and participate in our exciting Book Character Parade! This special event celebrates the joy of reading while bringing beloved storybook characters to life throughout our campus.
To help make this event even sweeter, we are asking our wonderful families and community partners to consider donating individually wrapped candy for our parade participants. Your generous donations will help create a memorable experience for our students as we celebrate literacy, creativity, and school spirit together.
Candy donations may be dropped off at the Coquina front office by October 28th. Thank you for supporting our Cougars and helping us make the 2026 Book Character Parade a spook-tacular success!
PBIS Celebration
At Coquina Elementary, we believe that positive behavior creates the best environment for learning. Students who consistently demonstrate respect, responsibility, and safety help build classrooms where everyone feels valued, focused, and ready to learn. Following school expectations means spending more time engaged in lessons, collaborating with classmates, and participating in meaningful learning experiences rather than addressing behavior concerns. Students who make positive choices, stay in their assigned learning locations, and remain referral-free not only contribute to a safe and productive school community, but also strengthen important life skills such as self-discipline, problem-solving, and teamwork. Through PBIS, we celebrate students who model these expectations because positive behavior leads to greater academic success, stronger relationships, increased confidence, and more opportunities to learn, grow, and achieve. PAWS UP, Coquina Cougars!
