A Message From the Principal
Hello everyone,
Thank you! I cannot thank you enough for all the support you give us every day so we can have an excellent STEM program. I cannot imagine a more generous community, dedicated to making the learning experiences at Weaver Lake better every single year with their talents and time.
Your generosity is matched by a gifted and dedicated staff, always willing and ready to learn new things to keep the students at the top—not only of our district but also the nation. I also thank our students for their dedication and flexibility in a school where doing things differently is our higher call.
I appreciate the diversity of our community and staff. We have different backgrounds and different ways of seeing the world, and we work hard to make sure everyone is welcome at Weaver Lake.
We understand that this land is the land of our ancestors, and we have a duty to make it better for future generations: more peaceful, more accepting, more loving, more caring, more intellectual, more welcoming, more respectful, and more giving.
Have a wonderful school break, and we will see you Monday, December 1st.
Ronald
Highlights from STEM in Action
Please click below to see the projects students have worked on.
We are thrilled to announce that our STEM in Action Fair was an overwhelming success with almost 300 families in attendance. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event such an exciting, educational, and inspiring experience for our students. Thank you to the volunteers who helped mat and hang over 1,200 projects! Your energy, time, and commitment were truly appreciated. Because of your help, the entire school was able to enjoy the hard work from all of the students across all grade levels!
Yearbook Cover Contest
Weaver Lake will be hosting our 2nd Annual Yearbook Cover Art Contest! Information will be sent home with students the first week of December and the winner will be decided by Weaver Lake students and staff in February. Happy creating!
Found Item
This was found at school and does not belong to any of our temperature-controlled items. It's possible that this came to school with a student who thought it was a fun toy! Please call the office to claim it if it belongs to you.
Winter is Coming!
Please send your student with ALL of the appropriate winter gear every day. Winter gear includes: coat, snow pants, boots, mittens, hat, and possibly scarf. If you need help with securing any of these items due to cost, please reach out to the office.
Also, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE label each item with your students name or initials. Mrs. Weaver checks every item for a name before putting it on the lost and found tables you will see at Conferences. The name helps reunite the item with the correct student and sometimes helps convince the student that the item is theirs!
DISTRICT WEATHER POLICY:
Cold Weather
When the wind chill or "feels like" temperature is -5°F (negative five degrees Fahrenheit) or below, students will have recess indoors. This measure is to protect students from the risks of frostbite and other cold-related health concerns. We continue to encourage families to ensure their children come to school with appropriate winter clothing.
