Reading Under the Stars & Choir Concert — December 11, 5:00–6:30 PM
Bring the family for a magical evening of stories, music, and community. You'll leave the evening more informed about how reading is taught in Prosper ISD.

Classroom Winter Parties — December 19 (during Specials)
Students will enjoy a winter celebration with their classmates. Thank you to our amazing room parents and volunteers for helping make these parties extra special!

Gifted and Talented Referral Window

The Gifted and Talented referral window is open now through Friday, January 16, 2026.

If you feel your child consistently demonstrates gifted learner characteristics and s/he has instructional needs that go beyond the rigor of the general classroom, please submit your referral form by January 16th, 2026. This form can be found on the Gifted & Talented page of the district website. Students on the referral list will be evaluated during the spring. Results will be shared in April for services to begin in August 2026

Join our principal on Tuesday, December 9 at 8:00 AM as we gather with families to listen, learn, and connect. You'll have an opportunity to have conversation about:

How things are done at Windsong (processes & procedures)
Ways to feel more connected to other WRE families
Parent education topics that would be helpful
Ideas for future chat topics

Winter Party Pre-Registration

Our classroom winter parties will be held on December 19 during Specials, and we can’t wait to celebrate with our students! If you plan to attend your child’s class party, please be sure to sign up ahead of time so we can prepare visitor badges. Remember, you must have your ID with you, in person (no photos). Thank you for helping us keep things organized and enjoyable for everyone!

Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to our Teacher of the Year, Brittany Ramos! Mrs. Ramos creates a classroom that is welcoming, inclusive, and engaging. Her creativity and tireless efforts ensure that every student can learn, grow, and advocate for themselves. We are proud to recognize her for her dedication and commitment to all students. Through building strong relationships with students and families, she makes a lasting impact on our school community.

Professional Support Staff of the Year

Congratulations to our Librarian, Heather Garavaglia, for being voted as the Professional Support Staff of the Year. She is being recognized for her unwavering dedication, creativity, and passion. She goes above and beyond every day to create engaging lessons and activities for students of all grade levels, supporting colleagues with enthusiasm, and making the Ranch a place where students and staff thrive. Her knowledge, reliability, and commitment to excellence inspire everyone around her.

Volunteer of the Year

Congratulations to our Volunteer of the Year, Tonya Holmes! We are grateful for her unwavering dedication and exceptional service to WRE. Tonya consistently goes above and beyond; supporting campus events, assisting in the library, and ensuring the success of our book fairs year after year. Her kindness, dependability, and selfless commitment make a lasting impact on our students and staff.

Together We Cultivate

Our fourth graders showed amazing leadership and kindness this week by choosing to help our first graders during the first grade independent math work time. Their support not only helps their younger peers grow in confidence but also cultivates a sense of community across grade levels. We are so proud of these thoughtful, caring students!

Join us in celebrating Brooke Stenson, who has earned the CREST Award for Excellence in School Counseling for the third consecutive year! Mrs. Stenson's commitment to supporting the emotional well-being of both students and staff shines through in all she does. Her calming, steady presence is felt across our campus, and we are so grateful for her.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:

The PTO needs your help on December 12th! The PTO will be hosting a holiday lunch for the staff and teachers. We want to assist the teachers in having the opportunity to enjoy lunch together as a team. When you sign up, you are volunteering your time to help in the cafeteria for student lunches while the teachers take a much deserved break and enjoy a holiday lunch with their grade level team.
