As we approach February (which is hard to believe), I continue to be impressed with the progress and growth of our young learners. There are all gaining skills: their play skills are developing, socially they are interacting with peers and adults, they are working on skills and strategies to self-regulate, and they are all building independence. The best part is that this is all through play and developmentally appropriate teaching strategies. As a staff we pride ourselves on collaboration to best support students and I am continually impressed at the ideas, strategies, and support staff share with each other. We want to model being "lifelong learners" for your students - because we are all learning everyday!

Friday, February 7, is an early release date for all students. We dismiss at 11:15. Please note, students in Ms. Jess' AFTERNOON class attend on Friday morning- no school for her morning session.

Report cards are issued twice per school year, once in February and the second on the last day of school in June. For students who receive special eudcaiton services, progress rerports are issued with the same frequency. Both can be found in your child's Aspen portal. If you need login credentials, please email Julie Martin.

Returning peers will be notified of classroom assignment on Friday 2/7/25.

New peers will be notified the following week, at latest 2/14/25. Please note there will be a waiting list.

*Teacher notification will take place during the summer.

If your child attends Daniel Feeney Preschool, they are a WPS student. The only paperwork needed for Kindergarten is an updated physical and immunization form. Please send this form to your child's elementary school. Additionally please include an updated Health History (attached below) for your child.

I have set a tentative date of Sunday, March 30 from 1-3 pm for our third annual DFP Carnival. This fun family event takes place at the preschool and Elm cafeteria and is complete with games, prizes, snakcs and more.

• We are searching for a Carnival Planning Committee. If you might be interested please contact Julie Martin. Carnival planning will be the topic at the 2/11 PAC Meeting. Please consider attending. The success of this event is dependent on our families!
