Did you know the emotional connection between a parent and child is crucial for regulating emotions, learning and behavior? During this workshop we will explore effective tools based on the neuroscience of emotional connection that you can begin using with your children to improve the emotional wellness of your entire family. Children who are parented through connection become emotionally intelligent individuals who fare well in emotional well-being, physical health, social competence, and academic performance.

MHS ATHLETICS
Our Spring Seasons continue to advance despite not the most ideal weather conditions.
The Unified Track and Field Team ended their regular season with a Home Meet against Silver Lake. Now members of the Team will prepare for States held in Middleborough. Junior Shane Kelly-Twigg had a strong performance both in the Track and Field Events for the Rams. Freshman Declan Murphy in his 1st year with the Team has had a very strong season and has improved steadily throughout. Fellow Freshman Carina Cardinale has also been a great team-player this Spring. Partners, Seniors Sofia Afanasiw Cailin Daoulas and Juniors Josie Ellwood, Audrey Sears and Talia Scardina have been great leaders in the Program.
The Girls Tennis Team continues to battle and improve this season. The Girls fell to both Pembroke and Duxbury this week. 1st Doubles against Pembroke played a great Match. Senior Carly Lydon and Freshman Natalee Audette were down early but managed to come all the way back and win a 3rd Set tiebreaker, 11-9 for the win. Junior Sloane Pifer, at 2nd Singles, also had a great Match battling back before losing in the 3rd Set. Even though the Rams fell to Duxbury, Sophomore Abby Lam played well in her 1st Singles Match.
The Boys Tennis Team took on 3 Patriot League opponents this week and battled in all 3 matchups. Even though the Rams could not take home the wins, Marshfield continues to play good Tennis and stay in the top 32 in Boys D2 Tennis. Sophomore Julian Baker continues to play very well in the number 1 Singles spot. The Perreault brothers, Junior Cole and Freshman Leo have also been strong contributors for Marshfield along with Senior Brendan Tierney.
The MHS Softball Team continues to roll along. The Team got to play their 1st game at the High School this week and the home cooking served them just fine. Marshfield defeated Abington 12-2 behind another strong pitching performance from Sophomore Caroline Arruda. The Sophomore pitched a 4-hitter with 10 K’s. Sophomore Maddie Adams contributed a 3-Run HR, while Senior 2B Sofia Blanco had a double, triple and 3 RBI’s in the win. The Rams next traveled to Duxbury and won 14-0. Senior Ava Sullivan had 3 hits including a Grand Slam which broke open the game. Sofia Blanco also hit a HR in the victory. Marshfield next traveled to Plymouth-South. The Rams came up a little short for only the 2nd time this year, falling, 6-3. Once again the offense was led by Senior Sarah McIntyre and Sophomores Maddie Adams and Lily Zimmer, who all had 3 hits apiece.
The Baseball Team was able to open up their new Diamond this week as well. Unfortunately, the Rams fell to Duxbury in their game. Both Aidan and Cole Summers, Seniors, had 2 hits apiece for Marshfield in the loss, while Junior Matt Keady continued to pitch well in relief for Marshfield. The Rams next hosted Plymouth-South and got a great pitching performance from Sophomore Teddie Holte. The Rams could not manage too much offense and fell 1-0.
The Girls Golf Team faced stiff competition this week, but still managed to play well despite coming up a little short. Senior Maddy Eagan, Sophomore Abby Panasuk and Junior Anna McNealy all just fell short in their Matches on the 9th Hole, but continue to play well. If a couple of putts rolled their way the outcome could have been much different.
The Girls Track and Field Team took on Silver Lake this week and cruised to a 94-42 win. Senior Mia LoVuolo finished in 1st Place in the 800 and also qualified for States. Senior Anna White also finished in 1st Place in the High Jump with a PR of 5’3. Olivia David also finished in both the 100M and 200M.
The Boys Track and Field Team also hosted Silver Lake and took home the victory 92-44. Junior Kyle Casale continues to throw past the competition finishing in 1st Place in the Shot Put with a personal best on the season of 42’10. Freshman Colin Fleming took home 3rd Place with a 38’ which also tied him for 8th Place throughout the State for Freshman. Senior Tucker McNamee continues to lead the Runners on the Track.
The Girls Lacrosse Team beat North Quincy in a close one this week 12-11. The Rams were led by Senior Julia O’Brien who had 4 goals to go along with 2 assists. Senior Clara McGrath had 3 goals and 3 assists. Fellow Senior Chloe Cupples was a rock on Defense causing 4 turnovers with her effort back there.
The Boys Lacrosse Team traveled to North Quincy and won 15-5. The Rams were once again led offensively by Senior Jon Sullivan with his multiple goal effort. Senior Nolan Cavanaugh also has had a strong year offensively for Marshfield despite a back injury. The Senior is a big part of Marshfield’s offense with and without the ball. Senior Kyle Fickeisen has been a stalwart on defense for the Rams all season long.
The MHS Rugby Team traveled out to Worcester this week to take on Burncoact High School. The Rams came away with an impressive 40-7 victory on the road. Junior Sean Folan has been a physical presence for the Rams with his play and leadership. Senior Liam Dillon continues to be a catalyst for Marshfield as has fellow Senior Eli Yang. The Rams have now put together back to back impressive wins against Cambridge-Ridge and Latin and Burncoat as they make a push for the State Tournament.

FOCUS FOR THE YEAR
As we progress through the third year of our five-year collaboratively developed Strategic Plan, we remain focused on our Mission, Core Values, and Vision, and on realizing the strategic initiatives that will help us reach our goals. As a reminder, our four pillars that will serve us for remainder of the strategic plan are:
“Equity, Belonging, and Wellness”
“Teaching, Learning, and Leading”
“Community, Engagement, and Communication”
AND
“Management and Operations”
BELONGING INITIATIVE: CHOOSING A DISTRICT WIDE SEL PLATFORM
One of the major goals of our Belonging efforts this year is to choose a Social-Emotional Leanring (SEL) platform for our district. Under the leadership of Dr. Ellen Martin, Assistant Superintendent, we have assembled a comprehensive steering team who are looking at the research, establishing priorities, and working to narrow down some final platforms for field testing at all levels this spring with a goal of full adoption next fall. The two platforms / curriculums that we will be fieldtesting are Wayfinder and Ruler, both research based and used widely throughout districts across the country. They offer tiered supports for all students, and they are connected closely to the CASEL Competencies. There will be time for student and family input in this important initiative.
GREAT LEARNING HAPPENING THROUGHOUT THE DISTRICT

Attorney General Guidance / "Know Your Rights" Guide
In May of 2025, amid increased immigration enforcement activity across Massachusetts, Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell released a ‘Know Your Rights’ guide designed to help immigrants, families, and communities understand their rights and the basic legal framework for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) actions. As we begin the school year we once again wanted you to have this information. Should you have additional questions or concerns regarding your students and how we can support them, please contact your building principal or Kate Lyons-Mailoux, Director of ESL.
