Principal Message
Happy New Year, Mustang Families!
As we embrace the winter season, we are excited to welcome students back to school on January 6! We hope you enjoyed a restful break filled with time to recharge and reconnect.
As we begin the second half of the school year, our dedicated staff is eager to continue fostering a positive, supportive, and enriching learning environment for all students. With the new term starting this week, final grades will be posted on Friday, January 9.
Just to let you know, some students may experience a schedule change as a result of parent-teacher conferences, IEP meetings, or 504 meetings. We want to assure you that we are making every effort to ensure each student’s academic needs are being met. If you have any questions or would like additional support for your student, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support! Have a wonderful evening!

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
As we begin Quarter 3, we would like to share a few important updates regarding our Merit system, attendance expectations, and student rewards.
Merit System Updates
During Quarter 3, students will be earning pink Mustang Money and digital Mustang Money. We are encouraging the use of digital Mustang Money.
Please note that cell phone violations and tardies reset at the start of each quarter, giving students a fresh start.
Platinum Reward
Students who earned 100 merits will receive a special Platinum Reward pass during homeroom on Tuesday, January 6. This pass allows students to leave class at the clean-up bell on Tuesday, January 6; Wednesday, January 7; and Thursday, January 8.
Students may check their merit totals in the student system if they believe they qualified but did not receive a pass.
No Missing Assignments Drawing
We are excited to continue encouraging strong academic habits through our No Missing Assignments Drawing. Students with no missing assignments for the quarter may receive a ticket to enter a prize drawing. Tickets will be collected and entered by Monday, January 12.
We appreciate your continued support in encouraging your students to stay organized, meet deadlines, and make positive choices.
Thank you for partnering with us as we support student success!

Parking Lot Safety
Every day before and after school at Will Rogers Middle School and Del Campo HIgh School, students, staff, families, and others come together on Dewey Drive—creating heavy congestion and safety challenges. To address these concerns, Del Campo has started a comprehensive plan to create a safer, more efficient environment for everyone who uses this busy street.
The initiative, known as the 10-10-10 Plan, which focuses on three key improvements:
Narrowing Dewey Drive by 10 feet
Reducing vehicle speeds by 10 miles per hour
Lowering maintenance needs on Dewey Drive by 10%
Together, these changes aim to protect students, ease traffic flow, and enhance long-term road sustainability.
For more details, please visit the website below to learn about the full 10-10-10 Plan.

If you feel inspired to support safer streets for our students and community, we invite you to add your name to the petition for the 10-10-10 Plan. Your voice makes a difference, and every signature helps move this safety initiative forward (see the link below). Please know, we have a long way to go but the first step is always the hardest.
