PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Kia ora koutou,

Thanks for reading our newsletter - it is produced alongside a fancy piece of software (what isn't these days?) that showed 624 people accessed our newsletter from a fortnight ago ... in places including USA, Europe and Australia.

So here is hoping this is serving its purpose ... and welcome to all our readers wherever you are on planet Earth.

Three new learners have started at Greenmeadows School over the past two weeks. We now have these super-motivated learners with us:

CANTEEN OPEN DAYS ADJUSTMENT

For the remainder of the year the canteen will open on Thursdays and Fridays only ... no longer operating on Wednesdays.

NEW ENTRANTS FOR 2022

Do you have a child due to turn five in 2022? If so, do you think we know they are going to enrol at GMS?

If you aren't sure please make contact with the office and let us know. It is better for us to hear twice, rather than not at all.

It is nice to not get a surprise when we weren't expecting a child and we haven't involved them in our fantastic transition to school programme.

HAERE RA TO OUR EIT CANDIDATE TEACHERS

The five fantastic teachers from EIT who have been based at Greenmeadows School enjoyed their final official day at our school today. In a year, with so many interruptions and changes to routines, they have all made the most of their opportunities. They celebrated the occasion with a shared morning tea and farewell.

All the very best to the GMS CTs (from left to right) Patrick Everard, Arihi Hutana, Rumer McHenry, Maddie MacErlich and Nikita Hall, as they head towards their final year of teacher training in 2022.

SCHOOL PHOTOS

School photos are being taken next Tuesday 9 November. No envelopes are sent home - progress means that you will receive a 'key code' a few days later to allow you to make any orders you want.

BORROWED UNIFORMS

Can we please please have uniform pieces that we have lent out returned as soon as possible.

We are desperately short on spare uniform pieces and if your child has an accident at school and we dont have anything to fit him or her we will be calling parents to drop in a change of clothes. This can be really inconvenient, especially for working parents!

REMINDER ABOUT PICKING YOUR CHILDREN UP DURING THE SCHOOL DAY

If you need to pick up your child during the school day, please call the office and let the office staff know you are here and at which gate you are waiting. Carolyn or Sara will ring through to the classroom and have your child sent out to meet you. The office staff will sign your child out on your behalf.

GMS PTA NEWS

1. Calendar orders - hopefully you have all seen the information about the calendars your children have created. You can make any orders through Kindo.

2. GMS PTA Christmas Raffle - in a year when many things have disappeared off the calendar ... but we are still going to have our annual Christmas raffle. We would gladly accept any donations toward the prize collection.

YUMMY APPLE STICKERS PROMOTION

Thanks to Kellie Harkness for collating close to 11,000 Yummy stickers. That number represents an amazing effort by all our sticker collectors, and Kellie for incredible perseverance with all that counting and sheet organising!!

Keep collecting the Yummy stickers if you see them - we can get a head start for next year's competition that way!
