Attendance Policy

Attendance at rehearsals has been great this year! Please continue to communicate any conflicts that you have with band rehearsals. We will work with your schedule to find solutions.

Del Rio Away Football Game

Parents, please consider signing up to volunteer as a chaperone or load crew if you have already completed the CISD background check here. The sign up to volunteer is here. We will have room on the charter busses for everyone who signs up to volunteer.

Students need to bring these items with them to school on Friday.

-Summer uniform

Band - Grey band polo, black dress shorts, black belt, black no show black socks, marching shoes, and band ball cap. No makeup or jewelry.
Color guard - Black Nike leggings, CG shirt, black no show socks, and Jazz shoes. Hair in high slicked back ponytail. Summer uniform makeup with red lipstick.

11:25 am All band students meet at the band hall and change into summer uniform with tennis shoes
11:45 am Run through on band pad in summer uniform and tennis shoes
Noon Load Dusty and Rusty
12:15 pm Go to A Lunch
12:50 pm Inspection in summer uniforms and marching shoes
1:00 pm Load charter busses
~1:15 pm Leave DHS for Del Rio
5:00 pm Arrive and unload Dusty and Rusty - eat when we arrive
6:30 pm Pre-game ceremonies
7:00 pm Davenport vs. Del Rio Football Game (Bs perform show @ halftime)
2:15 am Approximate pick-up time at DHS Band Hall - A remind message will be send out when we are on the road with a more accurate pick-up time

Band Yard Signs

Yard Signs are $25 and can be paid for by PayPal or at the BandMart table Friday night. Orders will be open through September 18th and pick up should hopefully be right around Fair Day.

Region Jazz Auditions

Region Jazz Auditions are Saturday, September 21st for students that registered for the audition. Students who place in the top of their room will be asked to record their music to be judged against all the other regions for a chance to make the All-State Jazz Band. We will be taking a bus from Davenport HS to La Vernia HS and back.

Schedule for the day

8:00 am - Meet at DHS Band Hall
8:15 am - Leave for La Vernia HS
9:15 am - Arrive at La Vernia HS
9:30 am - Judges' Meeting
10 am - Audition Begins (bring money for concessions for lunch)
3 pm - Approximate end time, load, and leave
~3:45pm - Parent pick-up at Davenport HS

Hosting USBands Contest October 5th

On Saturday, October 5th, the Wolf Band will be hosting the USBands San Antonio Regional Marching Contest. We are looking for any and all volunteers that would be willing to donate their time to ensure the competition is a success!

Fne Arts Passes

Fine Arts students are issued a Fine Arts pass that allows students to attend certain events and sporting events in Comal ISD free of charge. Here is a video with information on how to retrieve this year's Fine Arts Pass.

Alternates/Shadows Update

We will be reassessing our A and B shadow assignments after the performance at Del Rio HS on September 20th. Observations during performances and rehearsals, as well as pass off completion for the winds will be used to make final assignments. This will have given our As and Bs two performances each before we make final assignments for contest season. As and Bs will continue to follow this performance schedule.

Inspection

We will taking a daily grade for inspection on Friday. Students who are missing one item will receive a 50, and two or more items will result in a 0. Winds and battery percussion will have their flip folders checked. Front ensemble (cymbals) does not need flip folders. Color guard and band students will need to have all required summer uniform parts including a belt and hat for the band. Please talk to a band director before Friday to get help obtaining any missing items to avoid loosing points on inspection.
