Heights Hallway Happenings
Fall Fun 10/16
Principally Speaking....
Dear Heights Families,
At Heights Elementary School, we believe that kindness is one of the most important lessons we can teach our students. While academic learning is a priority, helping children develop empathy, respect, and compassion for others is equally important. Every day, we have opportunities to make our school a welcoming and positive place where all students feel safe, valued, and included.
Kindness can be shown in many ways. It can be as simple as offering a smile, inviting someone to join a game, helping a classmate, using encouraging words, or standing up for someone who needs support. These small acts can make a tremendous difference in a child's day and help build a stronger school community. We remind our students that our words and actions matter, and that treating others with kindness is a choice we can make every day.
At Heights, we encourage our students to recognize and celebrate the differences that make each of us unique. We want every child to know that they belong and that they have an important role in creating a school environment where everyone feels accepted and respected. We also recognize that children are still learning how to navigate friendships, resolve conflicts, and understand the feelings of others. These are valuable opportunities for growth, and we will continue to guide and support our students along the way.
Families play an essential role in reinforcing these messages at home. I encourage you to talk with your children about the importance of being kind, including others, showing empathy, and thinking about how their actions affect those around them. When schools and families work together, we can help our children develop the skills and character they need to build positive relationships throughout their lives.
Let us continue to work together to make kindness a part of everything we do. Remember, kindness does not have to be a grand gesture; often, it is the little things that make the biggest difference. Together, we can create a school community where kindness is not just something we talk about, but something we practice every day.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support in helping our students grow into caring, respectful, and compassionate individuals.
Warmly,
Lisa Farrell
REMINDER - DOGS on CAMPUS
This is just a reminder that we ask that you do not bring dogs on campus, if you are walking them please do not allow them to come close to the entrances. There are many children who are very afraid of dogs, seeing the dogs causes anxiety in the students. There are also several people who are allergic to dogs and this may cause them to be uncomfortable.
I LOVE OUR FOUR LEGGED FRIENDS - WE JUST NEED TO BE MINDFUL OF ALL HEIGHTS STUDENTS.
Thank you
