MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

CHS Community,

The third quarter of the 2024-2025 school year has officially come to a close. It's truly hard to believe we are now entering the final nine weeks of the school year. Please note that third-quarter grades will be finalized and available on March 11th.

Please take a moment to have a conversation with your student(s) about the courses they are considering for next year. Several conversations with teachers and guidance counselors have taken place to ensure students choose the right courses for their graduation path. Course changes will be limited for the 2025-26 school year.

To support our students in putting forth their best effort on Tuesday's testing and scheduling day, we are designating Monday, March 10th as a NO HOMEWORK NIGHT. We encourage students to use this time to relax, get a good night's sleep, and prepare for the busy day ahead.

Testing (March 11th):

  • 8th/9th Grade: PSAT
  • 10th/11th Grade: ACT
  • 10th & 11th grade students will complete/update their My ACT account set-up and other pre-administration activities in their English classes. If your student does not have English at CHS, they can pick up their instruction booklet in the Counseling Office. HERE is a video that is helpful when setting up or updating your ACT account.
  • 12th Grade: Career Day (Assignments in Google Classroom)

Testing Reminders:
  • BRING NOTHING (no drinks, coffee, food) to school except your CHROMEBOOK(w/charger), CALCULATOR, WRITING UTENSIL and SCHEDULING SHEET.
  • Charge your Chromebook!
  • Get a good night's sleep.
  • Eat breakfast! (Normal school breakfast will be served)
  • Upon arrival, report to your first-period class for attendance.
  • If you do not have a first-period class, sign in at the main office, and you will be directed to your testing location.
  • Punctuality is crucial, TESTING WILL BEGIN AT 7:35 FOR ALL STUDENTS. Late arrivals will impact your ability to complete/take the assessment.

Student Scheduling (March 11th):

  • After testing, students will schedule for 2025-26.
  • 9th-11th: 6 classes recommended; 12th: minimum 5.
  • If a student disagrees with a teacher's recommendation, they should complete a Course Recommendation Override form, which must be signed by both the teacher and a parent/guardian.
  • All testing and scheduling should be completed by 11:30 AM.
  • Please be patient with pick-up, as there will likely be a high volume of cars.

  • Students staying for the full day will be served lunch, and district transportation will be provided at the end of the school day.

ALL students will input their 25-26 course requests into Infinite Campus. Students need to ensure that they know their Student Infinite Campus portal log in. Contact Mrs. Giddings for Infinite Campus assistance.

Building Schedule Week of March 3

Normal week, with the exception of testing on TUESDAY.

Enjoy your weekend.
