Whale Tales
August 2024

Principal's Message
Dear Webster Community,
Welcome back, Whales! π³ I hope Winter Break was everything you needed and more β restful, joyful, and filled with meaningful moments.
It has been so wonderful to see the smiling faces of our students and families reconnecting this week and settling back into the rhythms of school. From the very first morning, there was an unmistakable buzz and energy around campus. We missed you all very much, and it feels good to be back together.
This week also brought a moment of reflection as we recognized the one-year anniversary of the Palisades Fire. While it was a heavy reminder, it was also a powerful opportunity to honor the resilience of Malibu and the strength of our community. To support students through any big emotions, we were grateful to welcome Nola Jade from the National Crisis Response Canines. Her calm, playful presence brought comfort and smiles to campus. A huge thank you to Alexis Jordan, BGCM Wellness Director, for organizing this meaningful visit for our school community.
Students were also thrilled to return to the STEAM Lab this week and begin exploring robotics and engineering using LEGO robotics kits. With the support of our incredible Webster PTA, students are already strengthening their problem-solving skills, experimenting with design and modeling, and building critical thinking strategies alongside Mr. Beatty, our Tech for Tomorrow teacher. We canβt wait to see where this learning takes us!
