Principal's Update

It is hard to believe that we are heading into our third week in October! One of my favorite sayings, "the days are long, the years are short," certainly holds true. What a pleasure to have a front row seat in your child's education each day. Students and staff have been settling into a routine, working hard to stretch their thinking and engaging in important conversations.

A few thoughts as we look ahead.

Our core value focus for October is RESPECT. We've talked about what that may look like in different parts of our school day. One area that we are spending a little extra time on is how we respond to adults when being given directions. Are we following directions the first time? Are we stopping when being asked to? Are we keeping responses appropriate? We will continue to focus on this important life skill in the days and weeks ahead.

There are several events coming up in the next few months- please be sure to thoroughly look through our Thursday folder, classroom newsletters, and if you are on social media, be sure to give our Facebook a follow.

An amazing fall season with TWENTY FOUR student athletes in grades 3-5 participating. Thank you to Nurse Jen and Mrs. Van Tassell for your dedication and guidance. And thank you to our families who ensured your students could participate each week.

We have transitioned from Talking Points to ReachMyTeach as a two-way communication platform that makes it easy to connect families through the languages they speak and the devices they use every day. This platform will also allow families to communicate directly with classroom teachers effortlessly through text, email, or WhatsApp, on-demand video interpreters, and scheduled conferences.
