We have finished our first month back at school and we have many exciting things happening! First of all, we would like to thank Pipestone Energy for their contribution to a new scoreboard for our school! It is now installed:

Thanks also goes to TAQA North for their donation of $4 000 which will go toward our sports programming this year!

Penson had a very successful Terry Fox fundraising event, as a school we raised: $3 673 for cancer research.

Our new programs are going well! The Breakfast Program is a big success so far and students are actively participating daily. The STEAM blocks are proving to be filled with some very engaging hands-on projects. A big thank you goes to Riley Hillis for helping out in our Small Engines options course!

There are many supports available to students in the area of mental health:

• Tier I & II which are Mental Health Capacity Building and Community School Liasion Counsellor. (prevention and promotion; universal wellness)
• Tier III is our Mental Health Team (assessment and intervention)
• Tier IV is our Outreach Team (providing support to families)

Reminder to families that the weather is changing and to send students with appropriate footwear and outerwear.

We are excited to kick off the 2023-2024 school year with some fantastic news! We have formed a Penson School Student Council. The Student Council is made up of students from grades 6 - 8 and is committed to organizing a wide range of events that will foster school spirit, engage community involvement, and create lasting memories.

We believe in a school community that is inclusive and empowers every student. The Student Council welcomes ideas, suggestions, and contributions from all students, teachers, and parents. Feel free to contact Mrs. Bowen or our Student Council President, Ella Green with any ideas.
